ps3 freezing - Blu-ray Forum

i have noticed that my ps3 started freezing a lot(maybe once a day) only when i play cod4. it has not done it while watching a movie, so as of now, i think its the disk or the online gameplay factor. if anybody has any thoughts , i would appreciate it. thanks, fuzzynutkil

Mine has done it a couple of times but I really don't think it's anything to worry about unless it's really causing you alot of problems and happening more than often.

The thing I do notice is that it usually happens when I'm doing extremely well during COD4, for example I had something like 60 kills and under 10 deaths and a whole heap of air-strikes and helicopters, then just 5minutes towards the end of the game it would freeze and I would have to restart the PS3.

Also, when it happens to me, it happens to others that are playing in the same game as me, so I don't know, I put it down to some kind of server related problem.

that must have sucked losing all those points! mine happens more in joining games and in the transition from lobby to game. maybe i will kill you, or you me, online !haha . HQ master

Its only freezing when your 'on line' right? I have had a freeze or two, only when online...I had the cable company come out & Amp my signal(i have tons of stuff) & have never had a prob since

Do you have "Media Server" running? That's known to cause problems when you're online. If it is on, try turning it off and see if that fixes it.

Oh the setting is in "Network Settings".

Mine did it all the time when playing Assasins Creed. It was very annoying. That was the only game I had a problem with.

thanks for the feedback. i think its an online issue and i will call the cable company to get a stronger signal. hopefuly, that will take care of it!

If not then it's a default in the hardware. A long time ago I had freezings and I got my PS3 returned and they exchanged it without any problems

Make sure you don't have anything downloading while your playing call of duty or any other online game. From my experience my games would freeze only when i had something downloading from the playstation store.

Just yesterday my game froze on COD4 (online) as well, I just restarted and it was fine. This only happens to me when I play for over 5+ hours.

mine froze a couple times about a year ago. no problems ever since.
