Absolutely. I find it incredibly immature that someone would create a thread to bash a movie coming out just because of personal prefference.

Again, just because you didn't like it (and probably haven't even seen it) doesn't mean it shouldn't be released on Blu-Ray.

Why deny someone who did enjoy it the pleasure of adding this to their collection? Oh, because we should go by one person's standards. I get it now...

"Zodiac" is already supposed to be coming out this year, so TLG does not affect it's release.

As for SP:BLU, I'd come near buying TLG over it...

Yeah I actually watched this in theaters and thought it was pretty bad. I went in expecting a movie with the feel of Austin Powers and came out pretty disappointed.

Good lord! What an absurd question. Every movie should be put out on blu. More and more films are going day-and-date with DVD, as it should be. There will be a lot of titles in the near (and distant) future that will be crappy straight-to-video releases that will be on blu. So what? So now we're being elitist tools and deciding whether or not a movie is worthy of being put on blu?

I saw a 10 second clip of this turd and I knew right away it was a dud. I don't know why anyone would have expected Austin Powers from it.

Anyway, it should be VERY interesting if there is a lossless track. If there is, Warner is going to be in the dog house (well even more so) with Speed Racer.

It's a Paramount title, and they support "lossless" across the board now, so yes, it will have "lossless".

Thank you.

Generally...I agree with you. I haven't seen this yet so I could be waaaaaay off in my harsh pre-criticism of it...but I don't think I am too too far off.

Speaking of #11, I have been thinking of purchasing "Into the Blue" blu-ray. Does anyone recommend? I saw about three minutes of this movie on tv, just so happened to be a part where Jessica is swimming or snorkeling, and it was legen.. wait for it..dary!

Into the Blue is actually a pretty fun movie.

The ocean scenes are amazing.

The Audio is great.

The Jessica Alba scenes that you are looking for are allllll there.

It is totally the "best of Paul Walker" show though.
I swear he says "Clean and clear" in every movie.

You should also be able to find a good price on it now as it has been out for ages.

Love Guru wasn't very funny but I've seen far worse.

Paramount should be releasing everything day & date with the BD. To skip this release, even though it bombed at the box office, would say that BD is somehow an "inferior" format.

I'd also dare to say that however appealing Jessica Alba is that Meagan Good makes me forget her.

Well.... that is probably material for another thread , but to be honest, I haven't yet seen a blu porn, so I don't have an opinion on this. Would Jessica Alba be in it?

Screw day and date. I really want to see a studio release Blu-rays a week before DVD to promote the medium.

You think people seeing a BD a week or 2 ahead of time is going to make them run out and buy a BD player? Unlikely.

Far more likely: seeing that they can get *all* titles available on DVD available on BD as well. That worked for DVD vs VHS too.

if the studios take the original poster's stance then some of my favorite movies will never come to blu-ray.

Yeah, if price is an issue, just hold out for the eventual bogo sale. If their supplies build up on the movie, they will drop the price...at least on amazon.com they will.

I think it's a good thing that studios are now releasing most movies on Blu-ray day-and-date with the DVD. However, The fact that their suggested retail price is $40 is absolutely ridiculous. I almost never buy Fox and Paramount titles unless they're on a good sale (i.e. $25 or below). Since even their catalog titles are $34.99, I have a hard time buying any of them.

Fox, Universal, DreamWorks Animation, and Paramount have a $39.99 MSRP for new releases. Sony has a $38.95 MSRP for new releases.

You must not buy many new releases?
