Damn man...it's like just being StarWars isn't enough anymore.

I never thought George would make it difficult to be a StarWars fan.

Stinky the Hutt!?!??! Are you f'ing kidding me!??!!?

Thank you Mr. Review person for putting an extra $10.50 in my pocket.

Maaaaaaaaaan...and I used to make such FUN of Star Trek people.

since when has a star wars film ever had a horrible story smeared across it?

Well,

I'm spending $42 bucks on this thing.... I think my 3 kids will like it no matter what. As long as it has lightsabers and some force action I think I'll be fine.

And maybe now my expectations are low enough to now worrry about it.

BTW, my friend took his family to see the 12:01 am show and his party was the only ones there - lol. 8 tickets sold at that theater!

Almost all the reviews look similar to this if not (believe it or not) worse then this threads creator.

I think it was on CNN this morning that George should just hang it up, immediately.

Also..........NOW who thinks Star Wars will beat up on Tropic Thunder at the box office??

no SW film has ever had a story like this one.

I mean ep. I had a very decent story (wasn't executed well though) with relationships between the TF and The Senate, The Jedi finding the chosen one and the Sith revealing themselves.

Ep II was with the mystery surrounding The Clone Army and getting it approved as well as how to deal with rising CIS threats.

Ep III told the story of the seduction of Anakin to the Dark Side and how the republic fell

Ep. IV told the story of a group of rebel misfits taking on the huge, evil galactic empire and blowing up the death star, along with Lukes beginning

Ep V dealt with Luke truly beginning his training, revelations to Luke about his history and well The Empire Striking Back from Episode IV.

Ep VI dealt with Anakins redemption, his relationship with Luke and defeating the Empire once and for all, along with rescuing Han.

WHAT DOES THIS DEAL WITH: JABBAS GASSY BABY BEING KIDNAPPED AND ANAKIN "SKY GUY" SKYWALKER AND A SMART ASS ALIEN PADAWAN GOING TO FIND HIM.

oh yeah and jabbas ghey uncle, who rebelled against the huttese language and speaks english....like Truman Capote.

Even the positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes aren't really positive.

"I thought this movie was going to be bad going into it. It was actually worse than I though. Everything about this movie is horrible. It has lightsabers. Its "Fresh""

yeah it's getting bad reviews, but like many movies, it will still do well enough in the theater no matter how bad the reviews are

If there is any franchise that is begging on its knees for a Batman-style reboot, it's got to be SW, right? Return of the Edginess, a clearly crazy psycho antagonist, and that Maggie Gyllenhaal chick shoehorned into some jedi character, perhaps?

...and then when we start seeing Batman-lego videogames popping up, we know the circle of life is now complete!

Was always sceptical of this outing, what with the Cartoon Network 'Clone Wars' already out there. 'Cash grab' sounded right from the beginning. Was always gonna give this a miss.

I am a huge fan of Heavy Metal et al, but to use Metal Guitars in an orchestrated classic sound track no no no no no no no.

the problem is WB/DC can always fire and assign new people to Batman, Lucas will not give Star Wars over to somebody else.

i think that reviewer is being harsh but all internet reviewers are jaded and hate most everything and most Star Wars fans expect too much.

I went to see this last night and thought it was pretty good, but then again i knew what it was and went in with reasonable expectations. I wanted to be entertained and I was. All the action sequences were handled well and were plentiful throughout the film as far as the plot and pacing goes, people seem to either forgetting or are completely ignorant of the fact that this is merely the first few episodes of the TV show strung together for a feature length release, it was not originally intended for a theatrical release, that was decided after the fact. Now i will agree that nicknames were stupid and they should drop those from all future episodes. Ziro the Hut also not good. As far as calling Jabba's kid stinky and the fart jokes...its a kids movie and really that part didnt bother me as much as "sky-guy"....all in all i thought the movie was good, i will watch the show.

Thanks for those words. I had a feeling that perhaps the intended audience is kids, not adults.

I'm going tonight at 7pm and can't wait to see it now!

it is definitely aimed at a younger audience, if you go in expecting your life to be changed you will be disappointed, if you just want to be entertained for and hour and half you should be alright.
