Terminator needs to take the crown on this one, the franchise needs the box office.

Maybe they need to start to making decent well made films in the series then

And we know they haven't because...?

Even if it's the biggest pile of crap ever, it's still gotta be a better bit than watching Tatum getting his kit off. Ugh.

And yet compare the reviews of magic mike to any Terminator post 2....
It was a genuinely good film

Charming Potato has a weird face but made up for that due to a gym membership

and genuine dancing ability.

I like to think Magic Mike is a sequel to Step Up

Yes, because it couldn't possibly be a good film. The first was. Just look at the reviews. Just because you don't want to see it doesn't mean it isn't a good movie.

I would love for Terminator to win this weekend, but I REALLY doubt it will happen. At least I would love to see Genysis best MM but I doubt it. With a cold heart I predict TG will flop and MM will overperform...just too many women as well as men are looking foward to watching Tatum strip = FACT.

maybe people would also rather see a good movie than a bad one.

If you're not into JW or animation, is there a good movie to go see next weekend that appeals to general audiences?

General audiences don't usually flock to an R rated comedy.

True, but it's on track to possibly make $50M+ for the weekend, and is currently Fandango's highest selling R-rated comedy of the year so far, already surpassing ticket sales of the first film. It's got a decent chance to be the "Hangover" of the summer, as not too many comedies are out there for adults among all these superhero and blockbuster films.

It may not win #1, but it's gonna put up a hell of a weekend against JW and Inside Out. Either way, Universal be like .

Yeah they do.
The first Ted made $550 million worldwide 3 years ago.
It's not exactly a niche film.

New one is tracking to a solid opening but I'd be surprised if it made that much worldwide with the current smash hits that are out or coming out soon.

Hate to say it but MM could very well beat JW as Tatum and his stripper friends have no competition. From the first film's initial box office write up .

Quote:
You know which movie’s audience wasn’t predominantly male?*Magic Mike’s. The endlessly written about stripper film, which is partially inspired by Channing Tatum’s real-life stripper past, grossed a tremendous $39.2 million in its opening weekend from audiences which were 73 percent female. The result is far higher than anyone in the industry would have predicted a month ago, but*Mike*quickly snowballed into a*Sex and the City-type release and became a must-see “event” for groups of women in the mood for something other than*Fifty Shades of Grey. “This is what the business is about,” says Warner Brothers’ President of Domestic Distribution, Dan Fellman. “There are surprises sometimes, and when you get a sleeper, it’s great.”

It's happening. Women are going to flock to it in droves like PP2 dragging their friends or their significant other with them. Thankfully my wife has no interest in seeing this at all

It makes me sad voting for MM
