I went to watch this after a nightshift. Bad idea, fell asleep. I remember that I enjoyed the bits I watched!

Aren't the HMV Store (online) and high street prices aligned ? unlike with xtra-vision online and the Irish stores.

If so it's 2D at £14.99 and 3D at £19.99, but the 2D will go into the 2 for £25 offer in a couple of weeks.

No problem BTW I went for the Amazon.de 3D steelbook as no sign of a UK version

From what I have seen HMV UK do seem to align their online and high street prices, but it's a pretty small sample and limited online range, not helped by the online search not working for me so I can only see titles via the various menu lists, pre-orders, new releases, sale titles etc.

Me too! However it doesn't seem like mine will be turning up today so i'll probably grab the 3D release from HMV at lunch.

As I put in that thread are these on indefinite hold somewhere in the German mail system because of their postal strike ?

Well that dude in the Steelbook thread seems to think so, I have no idea! Some have already received theirs so who knows. Would rather not have to buy it today but I really want to rewatch it tonight!

Having just rewatched my brand new UK blu, I can confirm that the film remains just as enjoyable for me at home as it was in cinemas. I literally watched the whole film with a smile on my face - it's such a wonderful ride!

Yeah i rewatched this last night, first time in 3D. Wow, just an amazing assault on the sense in terms of the design and visual FX and action. The story is great too, it's not perfect of course but it's a really good space opera IMO. I think the weakest part is the first 20 mins or so, it could have done with some slightly better editing then perhaps but i'm nitpicking.

I enjoyed the film but I thought Eddie Redmayne was terrible. I cringed in every scene he was in. Its almost like he read a book on how to be a stereotypical meglomaniac British villian and followed it to the letter. I could barely understand what he was saying most of the time due to the wierd voice he was putting on. By contrast I thought his characters brother and sister were much better.

Tbh Redmayne's villain is so ridiculous he's one of the highlights! I loved his performance just because of how daft he was playing it and that no one stepped in and said "uh Eddie, what the hell are you doing? "

Mine did (3D version) - same as the one pictured above.

And just to add my two cents, I found Eddie Redmayne's performance to be one of the most entertaining things about the film. The two leads are as bland as can be.
