Default What single HORROR movie do you hate that everyone else loves?

In my personal opinion, you cannot stand alone as a horror enthusiast or movie buff unless you are capable of forming your own opinions, rather than just following the hype.

Everyone will disagree with your post - which is the purpose of this thread. What single horror film do you genuinely dislike, that everyone else seems to love??

My answer is Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Let's take it one further...what horror movie did you love that everyone else hates?

My answer is Halloween II (2009)

I hated The Descent when it came out, but I was young (14) and my tastes have changed drastically. I wonder how I'd react to it today.

I seem to be the only person who loves The Last Exorcism.

The horror film(s) that I really hate that everyone else seems to love is SAW, I just hate those films.

One that everyone seems to hate is Hellgate(1989). Never understood the hate, it's very cheesy, but I like it that way.

The original Carrie. Unpleasant and mean-spirited (just like the book). I get absolutely no satisfaction from watching a girl being tormented.

...what horror movie did you love that everyone else hates?

Also Halloween II (2009) (director's cut).

Anything where someone just gets tortured for pretty much the whole movie. People have said to me I can't be a 'proper' horror fan unless I've seen 'Martyrs', but I think it's the sheer nihilism of it that I don't need in my life. Same goes for most extreme stuff like 'A Serbian Film' and 'Men Behind the Sun'. I have nothing against gore, but it's the hopelessness in those kinds of films that doesn't appeal to me.

But yeah, my answer is 'Martyrs'.

As for one I like that everyone else hates?

I didn't think Zombie's 'Halloween' was that bad.

I grew to really dislike Dead Snow after watching it through a few times over the years but the cult following for that film is still really really strong, stronger intact than that of the sequel which I thought was the far superior film.

In the opposite to that, I really enjoyed As Above, So Below recently. Many were quick to pick holes in the film and compare it to The Descent but I just enjoyed it for what it is, a fun ride.

The Babadook. I honestly thought it was stupid nonsense. I even rewatched it a few days later to see if I would change my mind, and I ended up hating it even more.

I do really love the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake from 2003. I'm probably alone on that.

I'm with OP on the Dawn Of the Dead remake. Blah.

One I liked that no one else does? The Falling/ Alien Predators, apparently. Nobody seems to share my enthusiasm for it and I can't really understand why.

Same, I enjoyed the sequel a lot more than the original, which pretty much only got amusing in the last 30 minutes.

I'll have to rewatch it sometime soon, but I quite liked it.

I loved the Last Exorcism and the second wasn't bad either until the last 20 minutes.

Which is why you cheer Carrie on, as she takes out all the douches, at her prom.

Sinister. Hate it.

I'm a big fan of Both Wolf Creek and Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 though.

Movie I HATE, that others love: It Follows & Don't Look Now. Absolutely boring and stupid.

Did you watch Martyrs? There's a lot more to it than just someone being tortured.
