I'll wait for retail.

2017 is a long ways away & I already threw money at Bloodstaind.

$60 towards a "non" disc version with a box is possible with a Kickstarter (Even Retail) so I would clarify you guys.

Lol it won't be a box without a disc. I'll bet my avatar on it, come release if it's a code in a box I'll change my avatar to anything you like

No one thought the PC physical edition would be a code in a box so why do people think the PS4 one is? Sure no one has come out and said this is a physical honest to god disc. But do they really need to? PHYSICAL edition would imply an actual copy of the game on disc not a piece of paper.

This kickstarter really has become a nightmare, it's ridiculous.

We've even got idiots at Kotaku running a post about how shoddy the mock up art is for christ sake

Can't believe how negative the gaming media has been towards this project. It's really soured the hype for this game. I just don't get it.

In any case the fans are putting their money where their mouth is, and have already donated over $230,000 in the past few hours since this physical PS4 announcement. In comparison the past three days only made $45,000 ish.

Imo it's going to go above 5 easy, given that most KS have a rally in the last hours (it just went up by almost 500k in 3hrs, and we have 14 days to go).

Thinking about upping my pledge to 60...

It'll be interesting to see the new tracking data tomorrow.

SO after the announcement of a physical PS4 edition yesterday as well as a few new $1000+ tiers it attracted 1,276 NEW backers compared to 186 the day before.

The last time that many people backed was 18th June, 3 days after it was announced.

It brought in an extra $335,960, which is the 3rd biggest day since the kickstarter began, and the most it's made in a single day since 17th June that was $268,596.

Today's total has already peaked $47,000.

At current rate it could hit anywhere between $4.9million and $6.1million.

It's not an exact science though since it's calculated by the previous days data and there will be peaks and troughs between now and the final day of funding.

I agree, that it will be an actual disc based physical release. I do see where others are coming from though. In the past we have gotten "physical" copies which was just a code inside a box. It has happened so I get where people are coming from.

I'm just going to wait till the retail release to pick this up though.

I can understand that PSN games that have had limited editions released have just had a code. So i can see where the thought process comes from.

But what I didn't understand is why people only started to think of this when the PS4 physical edition was announced and not about the PC physical edition that was there from day 1. So much negativity when it comes to this game and PlayStation.

Yeah, not sure on that one.

Whole thing seems like a mess. I don't think they should have announced the kickstarter at Sony's E3 as it does make it look like a big company is asking fans for money but I also don't see the HUGE fuss people are making over it. They have already explained the situation more than once and that should be enough.

The way I see it is I've just pre ordered my copy of the game, so either way they would get money from me, just this way it's cheaper than retail price so it's win win lol

Yeah, another thing I can see is the release date. 2017 is still so far away, not many people want to pay for something that far in advance. I know I'm not but will be buying a retail release.

Never even played Shenmue 1 or 2.

That's the thing with all kickstarters. It's not for everyone, but you usually get stuff cheaper and at times before the general public.

I'm still waiting for a Blu-ray I backed almost two years ago to come

Glad to hear there will be a disc version so I can have a backup copy of the game just in case I need to uninstall stuff. Plus 30 GB takes a few minutes from the disc compared to a day on regular broadband from digital download.

Some critics don't like the early concept graphics and are cutting it up; that's too bad. He had to assemble something to show people for Kickstarter. I guess he should've put in the images "concept art only" so those who don't realize the game hadn't started actual production can understand it's not what the finished game will represent.

-------
I'll likely buy this game for the interesting gameplay and intricate detail of the world, having Shenmue 1 on Dreamcast. It's a good game with great ideas, though admittedly slow paced at times and a lot of the world is locked off until you progress the story.

My favorite part was unlocking the city area (as small as it is at first) and playing the Sega arcade games.

Here is a physical copy of Tomb Raider: Temple of Osiris

http://www.amazon.com/Lara-Croft-Tem...mple+of+osiris

I'm not trying to run down the game in any way. I would like devs to be more "clear" on what you are paying extra for.

Still wanna bet that avatar?

Yes lol, because like I said a few posts up I realise there are boxed editions of PSN games that just have codes but this isn't a really a small PSN game, and nobody thought the PC physical edition would be a code in a box so didn't understand why people thought the PS4 version would

Just don't blame me if it's a code in a box!

If it makes you feel any better media outlets are finally (holiday weekend I guess?) picking up on the fact it's getting a physical release and are all reporting it as having a disc.

Well I think like you said this game "shouldn't" be a small game file & that has me more confident they will roll out a disc.

Now the wait..

Well that's the thing. Previous code in a box releases have been small PSN titles. This is a full on game likely to push 30+gb so I expect it'll be on a Disc it defeats the purpose of releasing a physical copy otherwise.
