Default PSN wallet

Word of advice, if you have children and have your billing info stored on your ps3 you might want to remove. My 3 year old son bought Elephunk and Ratchet and Clank.

Perhaps a three year old shouldn't be playing a video game console unsupervised....

Dont judge my parenting skills.... I needed the computer to do homework so i let him play Star Wars, went to pick up my wife and when i got back i see him on download screen waiting patiently for the download. Btw he wasnt supervised my mom who knows nothing bout technology was watching him and when i told her what he did she thought it was cute and even offered to pay for the game.

You could create a sub account for your kid to use. That should prevent him from buying stuff.

May I bow down at the altar of the almighty EvanX and his Divine parenting knowledge. Please bestow all that thou wilst upon my lowly and unworthy self. I am humbled by thy presence and wait patienly 'O EvanX.

Something doesn't make sense to me. Everytime I make a purchase off of the PSN store, it asks for my PSN password to confirm my purchase (Yes, it's a master account). Doesn't the store ask for purchase confirmation from everyone? And if so, how does your 3 year old... a) Know your login Password? And... b) know how to type it in, or spell it for that matter (my 4 year old nephew is only just learning his alphabet)?

I would think that it would ask to verify my password but i guess it doesnt(least for me). my kid is bright but not that much of genius. I didnt check to see what the the process since i rarely buy stuff of the psn, but i guess must been simple enough that my kid was able to buy some stuff. Luckily nothing big and now i have changed my settings.

Do explain WHY a 3 year old needs supervision?
If the kid can manage to figure out how to use the menu's a start up a game of Super Rub'a'dub, or any of the other family games that are on the Playstation Store, i see no reason to why they cant play them.

Although, letting them play on the Master Account is... stupid. No offense to the OP. Just Saying!
You could easily create a sub account for your kid. You never would really need to switch when you turn the console on cause you can just make the auto-log-in log in to you. Telling the kid to always use their account would work. Just a suggestion.

In the meantime, at least the kid bought Ratchet and Clank. Now you've got an amazing game to play! Too bad he/she didnt buy Warhawk... Hint hint.

Wouldn't it be quite easy to simply disconnect the system from the internet? Then he couldn't access the store.

Don't Question my Parenting skills!...it takes 10 seconds to set-up a sub account and 5 seconds to SWITCH over to another account!..

Plus i Heard the Cell Processor cant handle 2 accounts and slow it down!.

Just wanted to tell the OP thanks. My 5 year old son plays on the PS3 (Lego Indy, Wall-E, Lego Star Wars, Ratchet and Clank), and there are times that he throws me out of the room, so I'm definately going to disable the PSN wallet. I would use PSN cards and just one time buy things, but gah, can't find any.

Ahh... Well, it's been since Nov 2006 since I've touched my account settings. I'm not even sure how or why I set it up that way. Anyhow, problem solved for the OP then. Set-up your PSN account to ask for purchase confirmation then.
