Default Best Receiver For The Money??

Hello, i was wondering for the best possible price and also where i can get one, is the best receiver that processes DTS-MA and Dolby true hd. I have the new insignia, because i got it do cheap, and will better one in future, but for now would like to get a new receiver. I have been prone to looking at yamaha and pioneer, but have seen the onkyo getting some pretty good reviews.

thanks for any help. I would like to get a new receiver in 1 to 2 months, so dont want to wait for something to "come " out in the near future.

pt

Well, first, how much are you willing to spend on a receiver? Honestly, I don't think you will go wrong with whatever receiver you do choose as they are all mostly well made.

Then after the receiver you will have to purchase Loudspeakers at least 5 or 6 for 5.1 or 7 or 8 for 7.1 ...
Anyways it's impossible to have a good receiver and good loudspeakers for less than many thousands of Dollars or Euros

i already have a 5.1 system consisting of all definitive technolody speakers, which sound very good. I just would like an inexpesive receiver right now to carry me over till i can spend about 1k on a good one. I would like to spend about 500 or less.

Yamaha RX-V663 is one recommendation I'd make - DriverKing will recommend the Onkyo TX-SR705. Those are in the $500 price range...

For $500 or less I say go for the Pioneer VSX-1018 (around $475 online) or the Denon AVR-888 (less than $400 on Amazon).

You can get the Onkyo 805 for about $500 (see my sig) which is probably the best receiver for the money (in that price range )

*Flame Shield On*

My new Sony STR-DG920 is awesome for what I paid for it (less than $350). Check out the feature set yourself.

http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers...-32868601.html

Don't let the haters tell you Sony's "don't have the power" or "there is to much distortion". I have yet to see any bench tests on this new line, but all I can say is WOW! I am very impressed and I love it so far!

That said, I won't hate. I will say, go out and listen to them for yourself. The Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon, Sony, Marantz, Pioneer, etc. receivers all have their good qualities. Go see which is right for you...
