Rachel McAdams was born on November 17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada, to Sandra Kay (Gale), a nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams, a truck driver and furniture mover. She is of English, Welsh, Irish, and Scottish descent. Rachel became involved with acting as a teenager and by the age of 13 was performing in Shakespearean productions in summer theater camp; she went on to graduate with honors with a BFA degree in Theater from York University. After her debut in an episode of Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998), she co-starred in the Canadian TV series Slings and Arrows (2003), a comedy-drama about the trials and travails of a Shakespearean theater group, and won a Gemini award for her performance in 2003. Rachel McAdams was nominated for an Oscar in the best supporting actress for her role a Sacha Pfeiffer in The Academy Award winning Spotlight.
She was in Mean Girls as Regina George, but she shot to stardom as Allie in the Notebook. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Canada; 02-02-2017 at 12:14 AM. |

Spotlight movie thread
Spotlight Blu-ray thread I just saw Spotlight it was one of the best movies I have ever seen absolute 10/10. I was wondering how they how the could make a movie about investigative journalism compelling but I was absolutely riveted, it did for the clergy sex scandal what All the Presidents Men did for the Watergate scandal. |

![]() ![]() This thread just makes me think of the absolutely insane number of ridiculously beautiful actresses who are from Canada. I mean, think about it: There are about only 6M Canadian females between 15-39. And once you start looking at the actresses from Canada, it starts to become sort of amazing. BTW, I'm going to watch Spotlight tonight/this morning once the LPGA golf coverage is over. Though it looks like Sexy Lexi Thompson is running away with the tournament (which is a good thing, since she's one of my favorite players). |

She went to the same college/university I did, and during the same years (okay, even though we started at the same time, she graduated way earlier than I did. I procrastinated and needed another few years to finish). Never met her though. I always stick up for my fellow alumni.
