I just watched Planet Terror again last night (and scored a mint version of the UK Quad poster off ebay finally), so this is great news. I really wish we were getting the theatrical release w/ trailers though.

Nice!!! Must buy. It will satisfy me until the full theatrical release.

They both look great in high-def on StarzHD.

Those cases were exclusively at BestBuy. I may put the blu-rays in 'em.

Would it be worth a purchase together, yeah, probably. A BD50 containing both movies, the messed up versions from the theater and the cleaned up versions, with all the trailers in between, etc. would have been a really nice idea. Or are we going to see double dipping on this? The nice version comes out the same day that Kill Bill 1 & 2 come out on a BD50 together? HHHHhhhmmm...
I totally agree. Grindhouse as a single film is terrific. Split into the two films without trailers and lobby screens sucks. I will not buy them seperately. I will buy Grindhouse in a second. Charge me double for Grindhouse, I don't care. Just give me the theatrical version.

Default Digital Bits says Planet Terror/Death Proof on 12/16

Also, we have some cool new Blu-ray release news from Genius Products... look for ESPN's 3: The Dale Earnhardt Story - Collector's Edition in 1080p high-definition on 11/4 (SRP $34.95), followed by Lucky # Slevin and Awake on 11/18 (SRP $28.95). And here's some great news... Genius will finally release Planet Terror and Death Proof on Blu-ray Disc on 12/16 (SRP $28.95). Extras, however, appear to be identical to the prevoius DVD editions. Then on 12/23, Genius will debut Fanboys on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc (SRP $19.97 and $34.99). We'll post more details on these titles as they become available.

Back later, so stay tuned...

Way cool, I think its going to be a bad Christmas for my friends and relatives. I won't have any money left for them, lol. At least the price will be right under 20 bucks on AMazon and others.

Default GRINDHOUSE boycott

So yeah...GRINDHOUSE double feature on Blu 12/16, of course, individually like the dvds....what a freaking surprise. I refuse to buy these (like I did with the DVDs) unless they release the original theatrical double feature cut with the mock trailers. The Weinsteins are greedy SOB's and think they can profit more by splitting them. It's Blu-ray. We have the technology to now put this 3-4 hour event on one disc and still make it look great and we don't use it. Awesome. I can't seem to find any sort of email address for the Weinstein Company. Anyone have one or can anyone find one? I for one want to boycott them up the rear.

Did you expect the Weinsteins to be Humanitarians who made film for the good of future? They are in it to make money. SURPRISE!!!

I will be buying these ASAP. I LOVED Grindhouse but it bombed at the box office..so we are lucky they are even releasing it on blu. Hopefully if it gains enough sales we can see the true experiance down the road.
