While I really appreciate seeing more of my childhood memories coming to blu-ray, would it kill Hen's Tooth to put just a little effort into their packaging/cover art?

PS: still hoping they get around to putting out JACK AND THE BEANSTALK (1974) on blu-ray sometime in the future.

Yes! and she's still acting as well. She has been playing a detective on a Swedish version of CSI

Received my copy from amazon today. One case with 4 discs. Watched the first hour of pippi longstocking. Looked good to me and better than the dvds. First two are 1.33:1 and last two movies are 1.78:1. All appear to be dts stereo. I'm happy I purchased it.

I'm pretty sure my first introduction to Pippi was from the CBS Children's Film Festival -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBS_Ch..._Film_Festival. I thought it was quite unique. I'd purchase it for the nostalgia, that's fer sure.

Do the films have the original English dubs from the '70's?

May be incorrect, but I've heard that there are DVD releases with newer dubs, that is why I ask.

I fairly certain they are the original English dubs. I haven't done a direct comparison to the dvds that I also have though. It sounds how I remember it as a kid.

I think you may be thinking of the US release of the Pippi TV series proper (from which two of the movies were built, as discussed above), which came on DVD before they released this film set. Those had a different, newer dub that many complained was not how they remembered them growing up.

These films have always been released with the original dubs. Brings back such memories to watch them....

Finished watching Pippi and the south seas. It looked great. There are some shots here and there that are actually blurry but are due to the source and not the remaster. Now ready to go back and watch Pippi on the run.

I checked these out last night (PIPPI LONGSTOCKING and PIPPI ON THE RUN), and the picture and sound is really a big jump from the DVDs, and easily the best these have ever looked or sounded.

My only quibble is with the opening and (in some cases ending or end card) closing credits, which have been completely eliminated, and replaced with VERY cheap plain white digital text that looks one shade removed from Comic Sans.

It sticks out like a sore thumb and is very clearly in no way related to or reflective of the original title cards. Frankly, its ugly.

I can live with it, because the features themselves look so good, but its a very certain strike against an otherwise nice set.

I'm sorry, I didn't see this mentioned anywhere:
Do the films have the original language and English subtitles?

No original audio options. Only in English and Spanish. There are English and Spanish subtitles.
