Default Got a question about using VUDU credits...

I've never used any VUDU credits before, so I'm a little unfamiliar with how they work, and I'm curious about something. From what I could find by searching Google and this forum, VUDU doesn't charge you sales tax when you use credits, but what happens when you only pay partially with credits?

For instance, I'm considering purchasing four $4.99 credits from another member, which would give me $19.96 in credit. What will happen when I use that to purchase an HDX movie that is $19.99? Will I just have to pay 3 cents with my debit/credit card? Or will it be $1.75 (which is about what the tax on a $19.99 purchase would be where I live) since I'm not paying the entire total with credits?

Any insight is appreciated, basically I'm just wondering if it would be smarter to try and get five $4.99 credits instead of four.

Oh and while I'm here, I may as well ask another question I've been wondering about... I currently have my brother linked to my UV account through "Share My Movies", and I've been wondering what would happen if he purchased a movie/TV season on VUDU that is UV enabled. Will I be able to watch it on my VUDU? Or does it only work one-way?

EDIT - Oh and one more question, I know only UV enabled movies are supposed to show up in shared accounts, but what about Disney movies like Age of Ultron? If I purchase that on my VUDU account will my brother get access to it (he's linked through "Share My Movies")?

I've done pretty much what you asked, got some VUDU credits and purchase stuff that came out to $.05 more than my credits. My credit card was only charged $0.05. In fact, I'm not even sure if there is tax on digital items. My Amazon Kindle purchases don't have tax on them.

As far as you second question, I'm not sure. Someone else will have to answer that one.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping

I'm not really in a rush to get an answer to the second question, since my brother's VUDU account isn't really working correctly at the moment. At least it's not working right on the XBOX 360 app, but it works on his laptop. For some reason (on XBOX 360) it only lets him watch things he owns, but it won't let him watch any of my movies. He was able to watch a couple of my movies when I first set-up his account, but the past week or two it's been giving him an error message whenever he tries to play one of my movies. I already spoke to VUDU CS, and they removed his account from the XBOX app so he could try to re-login to see if that helps, but he hasn't gotten around to trying it yet.

Oh and one more question, I know only UV enabled movies are supposed to show up in his shared account, but what about Disney movies like Age of Ultron? If I purchase that on my VUDU account will he get access to it?

Disney Movies are not shared in Vudu share my movies. Sharing is through the UV system and only UV items are shared.

If a submember purchases a UV TV show or movie it actually is sent to the main member's UV account and it will be shared.
Sharing is both ways after linked, but only one way before accounts are linked.

I've never been charged tax before when using credits but i just tried getting one of the $4.99 Halloween sale titles and it wants to charge tax even though i have enough credit. Anyone know what's up with this?

Most credits are nontaxable but currently these promotions are taxable:

VJW2, VKRM, VKRR, VPPT, VRMF, VRWN, VTBD, VVPQ, VVPS, VVPT, VVPV, VVPW

If your state doesn't tax digital goods, then you won't be charged tax regardless of the promotion's taxable status.
