Haha, thank god! From what I've seen the transfer does look very good for this. You can actually see what's going on. Definitely a plus for people who like this one.

I'd swap the slipcases for extras & bonus content any day of the week.

I understand that porting/ transferring bonus content from other distributors in an extra cost in the overall licensing deal, but I know a dozen people on these boards who'd shell an extra few bitcoins for less slipcase/ more content deals.

You buy this stuff to watch it on the TV, not stare at the cases on your shelf. Mostly...

Just finished watching Scarecrows, rented this a fair few times on VHS back in the glory days. Nice to actually see WTF is going on now.

Fully agree!

The image transfer looks so much cleaner, brighter & crisper, and any inherit debris/ residual element only adds to the "charm" of the film.

Glad this got a bit of that ol' HD bluray love

The Last Man on Earth was crappier than I'd expected given the general critical feedback, but hey, it was interesting seeing the first adaption of I Am Legend.

HUSK was a part of the After Dark series of films, and has a very limited bluray release in Europe.

It's not an official remake of SCARECROWS, maybe just more along the lines of an "inspired by" film.

But the scarecrows in HUSK are nowhere near as awesome looking as the ones in SCARECROWS.

HUSK is worth a look. Mrs donthitpause liked it.

Might give it a go now actually. Just happened to stumble across the full movie on Youtube when searching for a trailer

Does anyone have any info on The house on sorority row?
Has it actually been released? Why is it so impossible to find out anything about this?

It's dumb and cheap but is clearly aware of what kind of movie it is and plays with that without being one of those annoying wink wink, meta kind of horror flicks. Plus despite the limited budget they still manage to get some really brutal kills in there, even if the gore is pretty low concept in its presentation.

Yes. In Australia. On DVD and bluray formats. From Cinema Cult/ Shock. In JB Hi-FI stores now!

Why is it so impossible to find out anything about this? It's cursed!

Well I did indeed watch it last night. And you know what? It actually wasn't that bad. I still think Scarecrows is the better of the two, but Husk was not too bad at all.

Although I wish they'd just used the original artwork instead of plaster those god awful grey bars on the front & spine Not appealing at all IMO.

Also, the Vincent Price Collection is available from Pre-order at JBHiFi for $75. It states 9 films on 7 Blu-rays Titles are

The Abominable Dr Phibes
Dr Phibes Rises Again
Witchfinder General
Tomb Of Ligeia
The Haunted Palace
House Of Usher
House On Haunted Hill
Masque Of The Red Death
The Last Man On Earth

That Price set a "no buy" for me. I already own both CC Phibes editions, the far superior UK ODEON release for Witchfinder General, and the UK Arrow steelbook for House of Usher.

I'll get MOTRD, TLMOE and Ligeia as single disc releases some time down the track.

And yep, somebody in the Shock/ Cinema Cult Art dept needs to re-think their whole brand look.

At least the last few Umbrella releases have had reversible covers with some unique slicks/ cover art and "actual extra content" included on their discs.

Something Cinema Cult has yet to experiment with....

In terms of extras, some Cinema Cult releases have them. I have quite a few that do. But yeah, there's also a number that don't, i.e.; the Vincent Price flicks. Arrow and Shout probably won't part with them or simply want too much moolah for them. I doubt Shock make enough in returns to afford them, which comes down to the size of the local market. A lot of folks in Oz don't share our good taste.

How could any citizen of any country in their right mind not like a bit of the ol' Vincent Price to the point of (insert local distributor name) choosing not forking over good coin to pop a few extras in there?

This is why Nuclear Reactors breakdown, why the planet is warming/ cooling, why crazy white kids shoot cinemas up, why the beer is warm, coz distributors like Shock/ Cinema Cult don't cough up the goods for extras on Vincent Price releases!

Man....

That's right, the Aussie market for these type of films is small. Esp compared to the UK and US.

While the lack of special features is disappointing at times, I'm just happy to see Australia finally getting alot of these cult/horror movies released on Blu ray, esp when a few of the overseas editions are OOP and fetching high prices online. We used to miss out and now we're getting all these releases and thats a good thing.
