Default Netflix's "Black Mirror"

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/09/2...ed-for-netflix

Quote:
The acclaimed anthology series will get 12 new episodes.

Netflix has confirmed that they are the new home of Black Mirror and have ordered Season 3 of the series.

Netflix has ordered 12 episodes of Charlie Brooker's acclaimed anthology series as a Netflix Original. Brooker and Annabel Jones will executive produce. Production is scheduled to begin in late 2015, and Brooker has now started writing new episodes.

"It's all very exciting -- a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable. Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that 'Black Mirror' feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true,” said Brooker.

“Charlie has created a one-of-a-kind series with an uncanny voice and prescient, darkly comedic vision. We’re tremendously proud to bring Black Mirror to our members as a Netflix original series,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President, original content, Netflix.

Rumors of a new season coming to Netflix surfaced earlier this month.

More Black Mirror the better, granted I'm wondering how successful a 12 episode run will be, if they use the same anthology structure or if certain stories have more episodes dedicated to them, or if they'll go for one big story. Certainly and interesting development.

If you haven't see the previous 2 seasons of Black Mirror, they should be available to stream on Netflix now, which I would highly recommend.

I've only seen the first episode of the first season which instantly came to mind when I first alluded to Pig-gate. Brooker must be some kind of psychic. And since then I've been meaning to watch the rest, it's easily done as there aren't that many. Will get on it this weekend at some point.

I hadn't heard about this getting a third series!!

Wow. These are some of the bleakest most soul-suckingly horrifying mini-movies I've ever seen and I can't wait to subject myself to 12 new installments!

I like this show. Feels like a modern day Twilight Zone.

Hopefully Netflix saves Utopia next (fingers crossed)

The first images for Season 3 of Netflix’s “Black Mirror” have been released two months ahead of its October premiere and weeks before its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The photos which feature Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis and Bryce Dallas Howard are taken from two episodes — one directed by Owen Harris and the other by Joe Wright.

One pair of images from Harris’ 80s-themed “San Junipero,” episode show a glammed-up Mbatha-Raw sitting next to Davis who is dressed down in a striped sweater and collar shirt. The second image shows Davis standing alone in an alley.

‘Black Mirror’ Season 3 Includes Episode by Rashida Jones, Mike Schur

Netflix announced at the TCAs in January that Mbatha-Raw and Davis had both been cast in lead roles.

Bringing the total images to four, two photos from the (Joe) Wright-directed installment, “Nosedive,” feature Howard holding her cellphone. She appears deep in thought.

Executive producers Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones also announced earlier this year that they teamed with Rashida Jones, Dan Trachtenberg and Mike Schur to pen a few episodes for the pending season. Jones and Schur co-wrote one episode and Trachtenberg wrote another.

The sci-fi anthology series is based on the British series of the same name, which recently starred “Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm in a Christmas special which aired in Dec. 2014.

Jerome Flynn and Kelly MacDonald will also star in the upcoming season.

“Black Mirror” returns on Netflix Oct. 21.

Will I watch it? Obviously. I just would like them to not cast a bunch of Americans... They still have the original British writing team don't they? American acting and British writing doesn't always work as well as they'd like it to lol

Trachtenberg did 10 Cloverfield Lane earlier in the year, Jones did the writing for Parks and Rec amongst other things. James Watkins and Joe Wright are doing some episodes as well. It's a whole big mix, but it's following 12 episodes this run, so a mix might be beneficial.

The last Christmas Special was the best thing I watched over that holiday. I enjoyed even more than the main thing I was looking forward to, and that was Doctor Who.
Then again, I've always enjoyed my Chrimbo telly with a darker side to it, be they M.R. James' Ghost Stories or some other spooky or twisted way that gets me thinking as I drift off to sleep for the night, fuelled and fuzzy by alcohol and over-indulged snacks and sweets.

They need to do one about the dangers of sexting, where a dude sends a picture of his member and it somehow gets broadcast on Times Square in the world can see it, lol. Seems like something they'd do!

I thought there was going to be 12 episodes? Why do they say six now. Did they split the season?

Six episodes in S3 and another six in S4. It got greenlit for both seasons. My guess here is they got optioned for 12 but opted to split them up. Considering we got 3 episodes each for the first 2 seasons, then the Christmas special, this is VERY generous.

Recently watched "Black Mirror" S01 EP01.....wow, there was some twisted, sickening s$#% that went down here. Very compelling, however.

When I first started watching the show, I was expecting something along the lines of "Twilight Zone", "Tales from the Darkside", etc. - i.e., an anthology show that had some kind of supernatural/sci-fi element. However, EP01 had nothing supernatural about this at all.

In any case, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.

None of them are supernatural, but the rest have some scifi elements to varying degrees. 103 and 201 were the best ones I'd say, goes from worst to best in season 1 then best to worst in season 2. White Christmas was kind of in between for me.

Watched the first two so far. The first felt so relevant and the second was just so incredibly well done. Glad this is back!

Just watched the first of the new episodes, while they "borrowed" maybe a little too much of the construction from elsewhere, the core concept was very strong. I actually could imagine a world like this not too far away. We effectively live in it already, where our social media is a carefully controlled projection of the life we want built out of the parts of the real one we live in, editing out the bad parts as we're scared of what our so called "friends" think of our social media presence. We're all just as bad as each other. It just doesn't impact on the real world quite at the magnitude here of course.
