So I believe both this & NBA Live street this Tuesday. Any takers on 2K or are ya gonna give EA a chance?

I'm not going to get live cause it hasn't been good sense they came back. I got last years game for free from ea's app on Xbox one and I didn't like it I hate that it forces you to go trough the controls instead of letting u play from the start

I got 2k16 today and it's easily sports game of the year. Best NBA game since 2k11.

Making your own courts is a blast. I accidently screwed up mygm by submitting a proposal too soon to move my team, not I cant edit my court and I can't try to get goals accomplished to try to persuade other teams to vote for me moving. I have to start over, boo. I think I'll try the knicks this time since they're so bad and have so much $$$.

NBA 2k16 is a great game, probably the best basketball game I have ever played. I love that they have MJ and classic teams and even added 12 additional classic teams this year. I only use the classic teams so will not even consider NBA Live.

I've only played like 2 or 3 hours of it. So far so good, but it has a long way to go before it gets to 2K11 status.

Totally agree. They really improved the Hell out of the game this year, graphics and gameplay are just phenomenal. My only complaint is the CPU still cheats, but man this game is so smooth and responsive. Rebounding actually works instead of seeming to be random and shotblocking is awesome this year.
The ability to choose the type of pass you are making on the fly is a great addition as well.

They improved defense a lot this year. Here's a guide on how to use the defensive settings. I held Miami to 33% shooting on All Star using it.

I will be using this because i'm having trouble against the CPU on Pro difficulty.

Pro is difficult as well. I played All Star on 2k15 and was losing on Pro for this years game. I only jumped to All Star now because that's the setting we're using in my online league, so I want to be ready.

Outside of playing good defense, running plays on offense, taking smart shots, and using the pick n roll/post has helped me score points consistently. This years cpu is smart, so they'll start stopping you if you run the same plays repeatedly.

I'm gonna really have to practice on this game before I can win it seems. I never seemed to have problems beating the cpu on older 2k games.

Seeing how good 2k does sports games, and ea is nickle and diming everyone, I wish 2k would stay making hockey games again..

As far as the hockey games go? The presentation isn't there. It feels like they just rehash old games and make new rosters, the graphics still aren't anywhere near what they could be, especially compared to games like NBA 2k, features and modes are left out, they don't appear to listen to the fans, as it seems they just want to get by.

Well not sure how we went to NHL in a NBA thread but sure. None of that is nickel and diming really. Charging $5 for something like the United Center they added in the day one patch would be nickel and diming.

They added a lot to the presentation this year in NHL. No hockey game has ever come close to that level of presentation. So don't know what you are talking about with that one. Gameplay wise it is also very different feeling. Not sure if that is good though since a lot of people that played a lot of NHL 15 are finding NHL 16 sluggish. While not as bad as the beta there are also still some input delay issues that really need fixed. Graphically I would like more but it isn't awful looking and looks better than WWE 2K at least. It also didn't downgrade like NBA 2K did which bugs me more (Look up NBA 2K14 and 2K15 comparisons covering this if you are unaware of it). As for any modes still missing they are missing for a reason. They were awful modes like GM connected that didn't get much use. NBA 2K hasn't exactly been innocent of missing modes either on top of the fact that it isn't really that rich on game modes to begin with.

That being said NHL 16 is a broken mess at the moment due to server issues and stuff. Just isn't a case of nickel and diming. Metal Gear Solid V is nickel and diming for example.
