United Kingdom The Exorcist Complete Anthology (5 Films) - October 19th, 2015

Warner will be releasing The Exorcist Compete Anthology set on October 19th. The set should be identical to the one they released in the US last year

Let's hope for a similar price, as this can be had for about £20 importing. I've never got around to it as I've not seen it creep into a sale under the customs limit, but I would like to pick it up.

I've always wanted a definitive answer as to why Warner constantly ignore the UK for catalog titles.

Also... why do they delete their UK releases so quickly?. Marathon Man, 2010 & THX 1138 are all examples of films that were only available in the UK for a short time, but the same titles are always available to buy in other territories.

Marathon Man is Paramount, but they are equally as bad for deleting titles as are Sony. Basically aside from Dog Day Afternoon, before this release we had 0 (The Spielberg titles were available in the set last year) catalogue titles released or scheduled from the majors this year. Luckily we have so many great independent label who have taken over. Just wish Warners or Sony would license out, would make sense if they aren't releasing themselves, they'd still make money without risking it themselves.

You're right, it was Paramount.

Because Warner released Marathon Man in the US, I assumed the UK release was also theirs, as most of the Warner releases are worldwide.

Why does Amazon list it as 5-disc edition? Shouldn't it be 6-disc one?

I'm guessing it's just a mistake as the cover lists all 5 films and both versions of The Exorcist. So it must be 6 discs I presume. Looking forward to getting this, as I was always meaning to import 2 and 3 separately. After flogging my original copy of The Exorcist, it should work out about the same price as importing those 2 but with 2 extra films included. Yes, I actually like The Exorcist II .

Not at fan or The Heretic or Dominion, so I imported III and The Beginning earlier in the year. Good to see Warners actually trying again!

I can tolerate Exorcist II but the transfer is the worst out of the bunch. Still a nice anthology set and I think I bought it for 20 $ from the States before release.

By that you mean "The Beginning" and "Dominion"? I prefer Paul Schrader's Dominion out of the two because the tone is more serious and it has some stunning sequences but still very uneven, Renny Harlin's The Beginning goes all out for big special effects sequences and cheesy scares. Both movies are flawed, but what makes them worth watching and kind of unique in movie history is that a studio went back and reshot a complete movie with much of the same cast and sets. It's fascinating to watch for that reason alone.

There's only one Exorcist film worth a damn and that's the original

I agree with Bumblefeet's remark - both Dominion and Beginning are in their own ways interesting (one more introspective and the other outright cheesy) and make for a good companion piece. In the DVD days me and a friend were thinking how cool it'd be if Warner released a special edition where each of the films' directors would be called in to give a commentary on the OTHER person's film.

And III. That one is good.

The Exorcist is beyond good. But III is entertaining enough. Besides, is has that scene

I don't think I've ever seen II but yeah, III I enjoyed. Although obviously the original is still much, much better IMO.

Wooooaaahhhh!

Any one seen HMV price?

Came close to the US release last year, but have the DVD same set and not being bothered with either prequel, or the 2nd Exorcist I didn't bother.

Very limited changes this cause I do love III and one is obviously a classic that I've never upgraded.

Will release include scenes like the spider walk and others which have been cut out on some releases?
