Definitely. I believe this is his first film to make it to blu (although I do have a 720p digital version of Lone Star).

Too bad it's Olive though, who discriminate and refuse to use english subs for the hard of hearing, even if they are available.

About time!

Since Olive releases Paramount titles, it would be cool if they released the original The Bad News Bears too.

Subs are a problem but personally I'm more annoyed that they don't include the existing extras for these releases.

Great news! Eight Men Out is a superb film. I'm not a big baseball fan, but this movie is a great historical film about the "black sox" scandal from the early 1900's - also interesting is that this movie explains where the term "Say it ain't so, Joe" came about...

John Sayles is one of my favorite film directors, and it's too bad so few of his films are on Blu - I didn't know Baby It's you was also on Blu (not one of his best films). Then, Eight Men Out will then be the second film of his to be released in Blu.

Would also really enjoy seeing Limbo on Blu as well...As well as City of Hope - which I've never seen, since it's never even been released to DVD.

We really are getting to the stage in BD now where I think that there's hope for everything that I want to see release in HD!

This will be day one for me - straight into a 2 disc case so that I can keep the DVD extras alongside it.

Yeah, I remember now holding off on that one, too, since it didn't have subs either.

That movie left such an influence on me that I even felt pity for DB Sweeney whenever he popped up in another movie. I dont think I've ever felt so sorry for a movie character as DB Sweeney's Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Let him in the HOF, come on!

'Baby It's You' is great. I will definitely be picking it up at some stage.
I would love to see 'Brother From Another Planet' get a blu ray release.

One of my favorite Sayles films and one of my favorite sports movies of all time. (Eight Men Out shows what crap that overrated piece of fluffy junk Field of Dreams is.) The only other Sayles film I like more is Lone Star which I think is a masterpiece.

Another one that I had been waiting on. I guess we are not getting subtitles either since it's Olive. I only have the 2003 DVD with the trailer so I will get rid of that. However, people with the 2008 DVD that contains the commentary and two documentaries definitely want to keep it.

Agreed. But less blu on Olive.

I obviously have mixed feelings about this, but I love the film so I'll just have to suck it up I guess.
