cant find any reviews, is the german copy worth buying on blu ray. is it a upgrade from dvd

They aren't burned in but are forced if you pick the English audio track. If you have a PC with the right software or a stand alone player that can be hacked (or ignores the subtitle restriction) you can turn them off.

If you pick the German dub there wont be any subtitles, if you pick the English audio it turns on the German subs and tells the player to disable turning them off. Some people also have luck fiddling around with jumping to specific titles on forced subtitle discs as a way of getting around them.

oh ok, thanks. this needs a US release, I am a big horror guy and this is the only movie that gives me chills. stick with the dvd. thanks

I'll have to play around with it then, I've had it for years but never got around to watching it because of the subtitle deal.
