[PS4/PS Vita]Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization And A Limited Edition Aincrad PS4

Today at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival 2015, Bandai Namco revealed Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for PS4 and Vita, the fourth installment in Sword Art Online’s main console series.

Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara, Bandai Namco producer Yosuke Futami, and other developers made an appearance on the stage of the event, where they made the announcement of Sword Art Online: TK.

While details on the story are vague for the time being, some sort of Aincrad “revival” revival was hinted. According to Kawahara, it will tell an “origin” story of Aincrad.

The story will also focus on the mysterious girl shown on the top image.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will release in Japan in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Bandai Namco revealed the latest limited edition PlayStation 4 model with “PlayStation 4 Sword Art Online: Game Director’s Edition Aincrad Model.”

The Sword Art Online edition PS4 will release in Japan on November 19, 2015 alongside the release of Sword Art Online: Game Director’s Edition.

The limited edition bundle will be available for 42,980 yen, and will come in Jet Black and Glacier White colors. Pre-orders will start on October 5 at 11:00am JST via the Sony Store.

Sword Art Online is bringing back Aincrad in a new game called Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The official website updates us with a look at its first screenshots and some story details.

The rebuilt virtual world—one that “people” did not ask for in this world.

I logged in. This world that feels familiar. The world of origin. A “world” that is not the same as the one we live in.

The year is 2024.

Set world is set in a floating castle called “Aincrad,” in a VRMMORPG called “Sword Art Online,” or “SAO,” where game over=death. This game was cleared by a player named Kirito, and the virtual world was destroyed.

An incident called the “SAO Incident” has brought a giant ripple to the company.

Some time has passed since then—.

The “NerveGear” hardware that put the lives of players at risk has since then been changed to the “AmuSphere” hardware, bringing virtual reality to complete safety.

With research for new possibilities using virtual reality, a new game was made on Sword Art Online’s former server. This game is called “Sword Art: Origin”, also known as “SA:O.”

In this VRMMORPG that brings back memories of past incident, Kirito receives a single message.

“I’m back to Aincrad.”

This is the beginning of a new adventure for Kirito and his friends.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will release in Japan in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Loving this game so far. I love the MMORPG feel it has. Brings back memories of playing .Hack.
