Default Guardians of the Galaxy (DisneyXD Animated Series)

Poster and Trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Cartoon on DisneyXD

Quote:
The New York Times reveal that a Guardians of the Galaxy animated series is indeed coming to Disney XD next year. Rumblings of such a series began at the San Diego Comic Con back in July, but this is the first time we've had confirmation. Details are scarce as of right now, but as the channel continues to try and expand its audience - with the upcoming launch of Star Wars Rebels for example - Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide says, "We have more exciting collaborations in the pipeline," an indication that more Marvel shows could follow perhaps.

According to the site, the animated series will feature the same characters as the film; Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. Stephen Wacker, Marvel’s vice president for current animation says that the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will attempt to replicte the movie's offbeat humour and that it WILL pick up where the James Gunn helmed release left off and that Thanos will figure prominently in the show. It will likely be a very loose follow up to the movie then, but not one which have a significant impact on the 2017 sequel.

Might be interesting.

Funny how much he is ripped that you can see all the details over his shirt lol

I don't hear the original actor for star-lord, hope they bring him to do voice over for the character. This one sounds similar, but not quite right.

I'll watch it for sure, Disney has done a good job with the Spiderman cartoon.

Not a fan of the test footage so hopefully it has changed a lot since than. But it's Marvel animation so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Only decent thing they have ever produced lately is Ultimate Spider-Man.

From what I've seen the only Marvel show I liked from them is Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but I'll give this a try.

THere's so many Marvel Cartoons on Disney I lost track.

I remember back when they had cartoons before the movies in the 90's. It's the opposite now. lol

it would be awesome if they can get the cast together to dub their characters.

I turned this off half way through the first episode. Gunn has already cut ties with the series and it isn't hard to see why, it's trying so hard to be the film that it's forgetting to get even the basic stuff right. It seems like there is no money behind this at all with cheap animation and ugly designs. It's a shame, would have loved to have had an unofficial sequel before the real one.

Marvel animation is well known for cheap and ugly animations so that was a given with this series.

I'm liking it but wish they would keep Quills father/his heritage out of it and save it for the actual movie.

There's been some funky styles along the way, admittedly, but GOTG looks like a bad flash animation.

Avengers Assemble is pretty good, if you're looking for a Marvel animated fix. It's no EMH's but it feels like that new Avengers show got pretty much all the Marvel animated budget. It has this fun comic book, shifting aspect ratio craziness thrown in, strong voice acting with mature (as far as these things go) storytelling and a kind of relaxed, natural, chemistry between the cast which doesn't just feel like a desperate attempt to make a budget version of the live action interplay like it does in the GOTG animated series.
