![]() ![]() Tangerine Blu-ray ![]() One of the better independent films to be released in recent years. Scott Silver's Johns still isn't on Blu-ray, but Strand has an excellent release of Hustler White ![]() NEWS/TRAILER https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=17723 Quote:

I actually sought out Starlet after seeing this movie and loved it. Tangerine is good too though. Even though I preferred Starlet, Tangerine captured the LA atmosphere even better.

I have received a review copy of this and while I haven't looked at it yet, there are bonus features on the disc not mentioned in the site's news article.
- "Catching Up with Kiki and Mya: Experiences, Characters, and the Big Screen" - "Walking the Streets: Exploring the Story and Production" - "Finding the Actors: Completing the Cast of Tangerine" - Tangerine Visual Style Test - Theatrical Trailer I loved Starlet also, and saw this at SIFF earlier this year and enjoyed it, but, a word of warning that the two films are drastically different almost across the board (visual style, sensibility of humor, pacing, tone, etc). |

Seems like after the first two paragraphs, the reviewer proceeded to spoil most of the movie's plot but I managed to avert my eyes when I realized that's what was going on. Being able to discuss a film while giving away as little as possible is a reviewer's job and I hope he'll add a spoiler warning to his review.
The rest of it is good, though. |

Your second sentence is not true. Information revealed in your review that was not revealed in the trailer (some of it small, some of it not so small): [Show spoiler]

Bringing up an entire subplot [Show spoiler] that wasn't hinted at by the trailer doesn't help support your claim, either. But I understand you're fully supportive of what you've written and won't be changing anything, which is fair enough. In the future, just to be on the safe side, I'll probably skip the parts of your reviews that don't discuss the video and audio. I think that's also fair enough. |

You may also want to avoid news releases. The one quoted in the OP of this thread, and posted here on Oct. 8, 2015 -- non-spoilered on both occasions -- not only mentions
[Show spoiler] but also reveals something about that element which the review omits.EDIT: Regarding certain comments below, one would think that for a movie with "no plot", which is "about nothing", and where "little really happens", it would be logically Impossible to "spoil" anything. Then again, I could not disagree more with those characterizations of "Tangerine", in which attentive viewers will find many events not mentioned in the review, which I hope they enjoy discovering on their own, just as I did.
