I bought this blind and it did not disappoint. This is one of the most original films I have seen in many years. I won't give away the plot for those who have not seen it but, it is everything I expected and nothing like I expected. The BD is awesome both AQ & PQ are supreme. This is a BD that finally makes me feel like the money I spent on my HD system was well worth it. If you have seen this film then I don't need to convince you. If you haven't seen this film, buy it. It will not disappoint. Seems to have a great deal of re-watch value also. I am very happy.

i just blind bought it, but i ended up buying the shining and jerry maguire also... def didnt expect to pick those up.

Just finished watching a copy from netflix. In the end, I liked it. Not love, but liked a good amount.

I wasnt quite sure whether I liked it or not while I was watching. It's paced and put together so diffwerent than anything else we've seen, and it can come off a bit jarring. But most of those strange things, i believe, are on purpose.

A very interesting movie, at times very sad, but well done, nicely acted, and filled with heart. A visual masterpiece, a feast for the eyes. Can't say enough good things about the visuals.

I think I'm going to spend some time in stores standing next to the shelves that hold the SD version of The Fall, and if anyone stops to pick up a copy, I will knock their teeth out. It's actually offensive to this movie to NOT get it on Blu-ray.

I agree...just bought it today and it's EXCELLENT!!! the PQ is razor and very detailed! It just BLOWs my mind!!! only way to watch movies for me now is on Blu-ray!!

just blind bought this based solely on the trailer that was released on PSN last week. It looks very , very interesting!

makes me wish they would release more trailers on blu-ray , especially the one's that aren't as well known.

After letting this film gestate in my mind over night, some things about this movie have percolated up to the surface. First, is that Tarsem's film is a synechdotal work. In other words, it is representative of the lives of many Americans of the time. Roy is a character who is trying to make money and win the affection of a women by working in a dangerous vocation. Alexandria is representative of the immigrant experience. Like Willa Cather's Antonia, Alexandria is trying to navigate a new land with only the Old World reasoning of her parents.
In the end, Tarsem's vision of early 20th century America is surprisingly optimistic. Or maybe it just seems that way. Alexandria still has to work to support her family (she is 5 years old in the film), Roy's fate seems uncertain but no less tragic. It is a story of characters who are at the mercy of their environment. While the film does not remain in the realm of literary Naturalism, it is at least an echo of American Modernism.
Regarding the BD, awesome! Great PQ & AQ. The BD is a little slim on special features, but still worth the price of purchase.

I don't understand why people say this. People call this a vanity project but honestly what does that mean? That the director made a film he wanted as oppose to a film some studio wanted him to make? But on another note I just bought it!
