Default Greatest American Hero Movie

Source

Even more originality coming to a theater near you... (although I loved this show as a kid )

Quote:
Stephen J. Cannell, the creator of that classic 80's "Greatest American Hero" series confirmed for fans the following at the Screen Actors Guild foundation's 75th anniversary:

"We've written a screenplay, and we've hired a director, and we're in the midst of putting this together for the future."

It is being reported that the director is Stephen Herek (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure). The show's original stars Connie Sellecca, William Katt and Robert Culp will have cameos according to Cannell.

The Greatest American Hero centered on Ralph Hinkley (Katt), a teacher who comes into possession of a red alien suit that endows its wearer with superpowers--but not the instruction manual on how to use the suits powers. Culp played a FBI agent who was Hinkley's partner and Sellecca played his girlfriend.

No need to hide my friend. I have no shame in admitting that that song is totally off the chain.

I had similar thoughts about this film following Iron Man. Powers derived from the suit, yada yada. Seems like it'll be hard to pull anything new out of it.

Loved the series.

Their description of the plot is somewhat wrong. The instruction manual does come with the suit. The idiot has it when he reads the book and shrinks himself and the book. He then reads the part on how to get back to his original size and does that, but not before he puts the book on a rock so he can concnetrate on using the suits power. So basically he makes himself big again but because he wasn't holding the instructions manual, it remains shrunken and they now can't find the book because it is too small. He also can't seem to shrink himself again either.

Actually, that was in the opener to the last season, in a gimmick episode where he "finally" found the book.
Yes, I'm ashamed to know that.
