Default Best media streaming device?

I've been using my Xbox one for everything including Blu Ray but was thinking of seperating it if there's a better streaming experience on a separate device. Is there a better streaming experience on a separate device?

Thanks.

Im a fan of Roku. You lose the optical drive, but I honestly haven't used mine for a long time. The new apple tv looks promising even though they still won't have a native app for VUDU.

Went and got a Roku. The standalone Blu Ray player is a lot better than Xbox one. I also tried the tv tuner for Xbox as well but it's slow as hell. Guess I'll stick with everything staying separate.

Really like the Roku. It's faster than the Xbox one and has way more apps.

Depends on your digital ecosystem and what devices you own if android or iOS.

I own an atv, an android box, and the PS3. I gave my atv to my sister and kept the android device for me since I use kodi a lot. The PS3 is the one I use for streaming Hulu, Netflix and Amazon videos. AppleTV doesn't have Amazon videos so one has to AirPlay them from their iPhone on it.
AirPlay so the best feature of the atv. Channels load well and having all your iTunes movies is great as well. But the atv doesn't have vudu nor Amazon video. But the new atv has an app site so it might be a game changer.
Amazon Fire tv has 4K which the new atv doesn't support.

Amazon Fire is really nice for all the things you can do with it, provided you are ok with a command line. You don't need to be an uber coder, just able to do some simple things. If you can handle that, the options for the Amazon Fire are vast. You can sideload most anything from android. You won't need a PC to stream your feed to your device (ala chromecast), you arent locked into an ecosysystem (ala apple tv), and you aren't limited in channel selections (ala roku).

Kodi is about the only thing you have to add. Although, there are a ton of great side apps to be had. If you want to do vudu on it, you sideload it and need to buy an input device since it's the android phone version.

I used to use my PS3/PS4, but recently got a Roku and although I still don't like the remote, it does everything I want without a touchy game controller.

What kind of things do you want to stream? I stream Netflix on my Xbox One and been completely happy with it...
