Default BD Players selling better than DVD players in Amazon

Nice to see Blu-ray players selling better than DVD players in Amazon. A review of Amazon's best sellers in "Electronics" reveals the following:

The Samsung BD-1500 is #23 selling for $278.14, The Panasonic DMP-BD30 is #26 selling for $290.63, and the Sony BDP-S350 is at #53 selling for $340.91. The best selling DVD player (#52 in Electronic best sellers) is the cheapo Coby DVD-224 $27.99. Like a very popular Blu-ray.com member likes to do to signal approval:

That's pretty cool, but not terribly surprising either. Blu-Ray is new and is picking up steam, so people are getting on that bandwagon gradually.

Most everyone already has a DVD player by now, so there's no reason to rebuy something that one already has until the machine wears out and needs to be replaced.

Don't worry.. There is always a new gadget just around the corner that will allow you to proudly stick your nose back high in the air.

Be the first with a 240Hz set this winter, for example.

You also get an extra $50 off if you buy the Panasonic BD30.

Isn't "elite schmuck" and oxy-moron. You can either be an "elite bastard" or a "poor schmuck"... if you are both simultaneously there's a serious problem.

No, we are still both. We are "elite" for having blu-ray. We are "poor" for buying so many.

Anyone WITHOUT blu-ray has a serious problem.

Don't worry about that, the rift between those that know and have and those that don't have and even don't know is still wide. Just a few days ago as I was checking out the Blurays in this Big store downtown Brussels, this lady and her husband looking at the stuff was asking out loud what were those and when her husband answered that he had no idea, I invited myself in their convo and explained.

I'm sure this will still happen years from now.
