I see our friend tenia has already reviewed the BD of In the Cut:

http://retro-hd.com/tests/blu-ray/2105-in-the-cut.html

Looks good, and it appears the French subs are optional, which is surprising, but great.

Sean,

If you are looking for an individual release, there is actually a very nice disc in Germany. I have been planning to put a review for it, but there have been too many other requests.

I may wait, though, as it looks like the French BD has the commentary, which is not listed for the German BD.

Who knows, I may end up getting Pathé's box, if most or all of the discs are worthy (and without forced subs).

If the subs are optional on all releases (hoping someone here knows this), I'm getting this as soon as possible.

Oooooh, I need to double check, I might have forgotten to update this. Subs aren't optional on most of the titles I received and watched, it shouldn't be too on In The Cut.

Gimme 5 minutes.

EDIT : aaaaand indeed, they're forced. Sorry for the false hope.

I wonder if The Piano is a new transfer.
I have the Studio Canal Bluray, and although it has better detail than the US one, it doesn't have the colors I remember from the theater (which the US release has). It's a bit tealish.
tenia can you comment on this?

It seems very likely to be the same transfer than on the TF1 2009 transfer but I can't know for sure because I didn't receive the Pathé disc and don't have the TF1 one.
The last movie I have to watch for review is Bright Star.
I also received Two Friends but only on DVD. Haven't had a look at it yet but since it's on DVD only I won't review it.

I've also reviewed Sweetie and An Angel at my Table :
http://retro-hd.com/tests/blu-ray/21...-ma-table.html
http://retro-hd.com/tests/blu-ray/2101-sweetie.html

I'll upload very soon the review of the short movies disc and then the Bright Star one.
All those have forced French subs. An Angel at my Table is a very dated master. Sweetie uses the Criterion master which looks now dated. Some of the short have been recently restored from the OCN and looks very nice.
