![]() ![]() Lionsgate UK will release John Maclean's Slow West (2015) on 2 November 2015. According to what has been classified by the BBFC, it looks like this release should have some more substantial extra content than what was on the Lionsgate US BD: http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/slow-...low-west-video http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/slow-...-maclean-video That's about 77 minutes of video extras altogether, over an hour more than the US edition (which has only the making of featurette and two deleted scenes), including a short film, cast interviews, and a Q&A with Maclean. Anyone got this ordered, or planning to pick it up on Monday? |

Yeah judging by other Lionsgate titles of late, I reckon this will drop to about £7 in a few months (same with Sicario, and The Gift which I might blind-buy). Slow West is an excellent film, and one of my favourites of the year so far (helps that I'm quite a big fan of The Beta Band and had already seen a couple of Maclean's shorts), but studio titles don't usually hold their price for very long (the general giveaway is the inclusion of a UV code).

Excited to see this film purely because of Magneto and Nightcrawler.
HMV has it for £12.99 but considering I was able to hold off on the pre-order of Turbo Kid, to it dropping to £9.99 in HMV, and £6 in CEX just a week or two after, I think I can hold off on this. I do want to watch it but it isn't on the major list of priorities of films I feel like dropping everything else in my life to watch ASAP. The other release I was interested in this week, Dear White People, appears to be sans extras on the DVD, so I'll hold off on that one until I can get a multi-region player for the US release. |

Not sure how I feel about this one. It's certainly a film meant for BD or the big screen as the photography of New Zealand standing in for Colorado is stunning as hell. But I dunno, I went in and expected Fassbender chewing whiskey and shooting dudes in the face, I didn't really expect a sort of wry black-comedy art installation.
