Default Noomi Rapace is AMY WINEHOUSE.

Noomi Rapace is in talks to play the late British soul icon in a script biopic which is to be directed by Kristen Sheridan who also wrote the script.

A music bipoic about an incredible talent who gets caught up in substance abuse? It's nice to see something original these days.

I hate biopics about musicians.

...they almost always suck.

Eh. I think a doc would suffice. I'm sure there's plenty already.

Noomi Rapace continues to pick the most underwhelming projects. She has so much potential that's being squandered on mediocrity like this.

Malcolm X, Raging Bull and Nixon are the only ones I like enough to have in my collection.

They're usually too formulaic, sentimental and overly expository.

Maybe but if we have to endure Ray and The Doors in order to get the occasional Walk the Line then so be it.

How about ones about crackhead musicans (which would be most I guess)

Dont really care about the life story of some selfish loser who hurt everybody around them by their actions

Hold on, let me just be a remorseless prick and slag off someone who's passed away, who was more talented than myself and I have absolutely no knowledge about personally.

They should get Terry Gilliam to direct it. I'm thinking of his work with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas would translate perfectly

Great casting but not sure if it is needed after the great Amy documentary.

This will have the same problem as the Steve Jobs biopics. It's simply too soon to be turning the lives of two people, who died suddenly at an early age in the 21st century, into fictionalized films. Generally, the best biopics are far removed from the subject's life, or at least, from the events that are being dramatized.

It also the same reason that I will not see Straight Outta Compton, which, beyond the fact that it reeks of being a vanity project, is simply happening too soon. To me, the 90s were yesterday, and the late 80s, the day before that.

Didn't we just have one released like a year ago?
