Default New Line Cinema

When will New Line Cinema join the HD world? Since they are owned by Time Warner I am surprised that there are no releases.

What a fantastic question. To me, even though I like Star Wars more, I think I am looking forward to seeing LOTR in HD more.

I would love to see Blade series, Rush Hour Series. I think a lot of New Line movies will look incredible in Blu. Their movies are very visual.

Wouldn't it be great if New Line Cinema decided the be a Blu-ray exclusive studio at the last minute? It isn't likely, but it would be something else.

I think there is around 20 or so. Check the game release dates in the games section of the Blu-ray forum.

Wasn't the original teenage mutant ninja turtles triogy NLC?
I'd buy those if they came out on BD. Ahh ...to remember being young.

And what about Austin Powers and Little Nicky?

I thought New Line Cinema was realeasing their catalog of movies on HD-DVD exclusivly, but last time I heard that was 1.5 years ago at least.

A year and half ago Warner Bros was releasing HD-DVDs too. Since Warner owns New Line, I am pretty sure they would go on both. But it seems they dont want to release on both until its official that blu is the one.

I cant wait for them to start releasing. When I took a risk on DVD back in '97 Austin Powers was my first DVD.

Funny thing is that I risked on Blu-Ray too and looks like its going to take off.

Star Wars and LOTR are the two best franchises to show off the power of Blu-ray. I hope they come out soon.

thats just what i have heard because good old geroge wants a format winner and some ppl on here said we prolly wont see a star wars release until 2010. but i hope thats not the case. Becuase i would love star wars on HD. And i sure hope blu-ray is around for that long, DVD has been around for 10 yrs now

OK. I mean, 2010 isn't exactly tomorrow - but we are half way through 2007 already. That is NOT a long time.

Like everyone else, I'd love to hear the announcement about a LOTR Blu-ray box set (or even a revamp of the special collectors edition sets with Blu-rays in them) release for the holidays, but that is HIGHLY unlikely at this point.

I think that, assuming the format wars last major skirmish is this Christmas (with all but the real die-hard HD DVD facs hanging on), we should expect a LOTR announcement is either the first half or second half of 2008 with a release in the second half of 2008 or the first half of 2009. I *could* happen sooner than that, but not likely even in the most rosey scenario.

And even if they did push it out in the earliest of those time frames it would be very difficult to beleive we'd be looking at anything other than a warmed-over version of the last releases with mediocre video and either the same soundtrack(s) or only one additional soundtrack.

I'd love for a reference quality set of those to come out for the Fall, like everyone else. but it's just unrealistic.
