Default Unwatched Blu-Rays

What Blu-Rays are you sitting on that you still need to get around to watching?

Having bought some items in the Arrow Video sale a few months ago, having Netflix and YouTube and study to fit around (and films suggested by our lecturer), it's been difficult to fit in everything that I've bought.

This is a massive thing for me. I'm currently sitting on 190+ blurays and 400+ DVD's that are unwatched. I'm trying to get through them as fast as possible but I keep buying at the same time...

At least i've always got someone new I can watch

Yup, my list of unwatched Blu's is growing. I'm not one for viewing a blu as soon as it comes in the door, I like to spot check it, put it on the shelf & look forward to seeing it some time soon. But there's other things going on, & a full TV planner of stuff to watch, & if you're a film lover there's a lot of pleasure in just owning this stuff.

At the moment I have about 145 unwatched films! I usually get viewing around 4 each week so it will probably be halfway through next year before I get watching everything; that is if I do not buy any more between then

My database can tell me how many unwatched I have... but I try not to go there!

I think I still have a couple of unwatched DVDs I bought in 2000

Loads!

When I'm not too knackered from work I have to decide whether to watch a BD I've never seen or one of the many films building up on my Sky box and the Sky Box usually wins because it's late and I don't have to use my amp.

I used to leave my unwatched discs poking out a little on my shelves so I could see which ones I needed to watch, this became too much of a bast when dusting so I put my collection on here.

It's now much easier to check my unwatched Movies on here, currently 156

Down to 4 individual releases to watch. 13 films altogether as have some still to watch from the Herzog, Andersson & Jarmusch sets plus the Infernal Affairs sequels.

Do have a few en-route though - Seconds, Dragon Inn, Thieves' Highway, I Saw the Devil & Classe Tous Risques. These will probably all jump ahead of the original 4 in the to-watch queue.

The number of Blu-rays I have not watched has climbed to 216 by now, which is just over a quarter of my collection. That said in 90% of cases I have seen the film before (at the theatre or on DVD), often even on Blu-ray (either as a rental or I've upgraded). I just haven't watched the Blu-ray I bought yet.

Wow, respect! Not only are these all good films but you seem to be on top of your habit.

I decided to do something very helpful and add any new Blu-ray films I buy to my Letterboxd watchlist. At the moment, there are roughly 440 of those...and that doesn't include the 100-200 DVD titles I own that I also haven't watched yet!

I don't really count those as unwatched Blu-ray's, personally. If I've seen the film, I've seen the film...unless it's a different cut or something (e.g. Blade Runner, Apocalypse Now).

Probably more than 200. But out of a collection of over 4000 that's not THAT bad.

The whole "cheap price in the supermarkets the first week" for 3D titles and slipcase "only for the first few weeks" marketing has encouraged me to buy stuff I know I won't have time to watch for many months.

I only rarely blind buy and when I do then that's usually a film I'm very keen to see. By your definition I probably don't have more than 12 unwatched Blu-rays then and in most cases that's films which are part of box sets.

However, I do feel a small pang of guilt over the 216 Blu-rays which I haven't watched yet, even if I've seen the film before. If I pay for it, I should really watch it, otherwise it feels like a waste.

Far too many to mention. If I spot a bargain I buy it.
