I was taking advantage of the Black Friday deals at Best Buy and tried to buy a new BD player to replace my current one that's dying. So, I initially bought a Panasonic which ended up with issues. So I returned it and it was surprisingly easy at Best Buy. The lady just scanned the item and receipt and that was it. I got my refund. So, then I decided to get a Sony player thinking it would be better, but it also had issues. So, I'm going to return it tomorrow and am concerned that they may give me a hard time since it's my second return.
Since I paid for both of these on Credit Card, Best Buy has my name on file and they know that I just returned something. Is there a chance they are going to check the system, see that I just returned an electronic not too long ago and give me a hard time with this next return?? |

I can only speak to my experience with Best Buy. While I do have other issues (unrelated to this topic) with them, in general I've found them to be reasonable in this regard.
Last year (2014) I returned two different Plasma HDTVs each within the 2 week "no hassle" returns period before getting the one that I ultimately kept (so in both instances, I was exchanging for something else). I've also had a few returns of smaller items within the last few months. More often than not they were things that I ended up finding a better deal on elsewhere, or something I ordered from their site that showed up in a condition unsatisfactory to me, so I returned it to the store and bought another one, etc. In all of these cases I've used a credit card and had my purchases associated with my rewards membership with them. They've never given me a hard time about returning items or said that I'm restricted from further doing so. I'm actually going to be returning a couple of items tonight (an Xbox One system and a game for it that I ordered from their site, but found a better deal on elsewhere). I don't anticipate a hassle beyond the wait in the customer service line potentially being annoyingly lengthy. Bare in mind, too, that I've still bought a lot of things from them as well that I did not return, so they are still getting a lot of business from me. While it's possible that this could potentially be a YMMV situation, I would think that overall you should be alright. Honestly if they haven't told me to "take a hike" yet, I don't think they will do so to you for simply returning two BD players. ![]() |
