I just finished watching this new 25th Anniversary Edition of Home Alone.

I haven't seen Home Alone in ages, but the Blu-ray looks great to me.

I had forgotten how funny and heartwarming this one is. I cracked up throughout the movie, and I got a lump in my throat at the end.

The actor who played Old Man Marley in this movie also played the painter in Escape from Alcatraz who tells Clint Eastwood, "Wolf's coming at you."

This set sucks. I ordered it and the case that holds these is awful and scratches the disc like crazy had to send it back

He also plays Ezra Cobb, the serial killer, in Deranged. Certainly makes you look at "Old Man Marley" in a very different way after seeing that one.

I watched my copy last night. I agree that the PQ looked great. And that lump in my throat at the end turned into tears for me -- which isn't difficult to do with Christmas movies.

Having just watched this for the first time in many years, I was happy to see how well it still holds up. It's a very funny and charming film, and the av presentation on the blu-ray was well done. I didn't have a chance to check out the bonus features yet, but it looked like there was a good amount.

I did notice that at two points in the film (I forget which scenes exactly) there was a moment that the movie went into slow motion for about 2 seconds. It was the first film I watched on my new blu-ray player, so I'm curious if it's the disc or the player.

A bit late to the review party, but I watched the new disc during my forcible forum vacation and I thought it looked terrific. I'm not sure what the blu-ray.com reviewer was referring to when he said there was a dip in quality during the first 30 minutes - beside your usual optical credits, I noticed no noteworthy shift in either photography or transfer. For what the film is, the whole thing looks quite stellar to me.

I watched my copy last night and thought it looked great. It's such a nerdy thing to say, but I loved the soft glow of the on-screen lights, and my attention kept getting drawn to them for some reason.

There's a one time screening of this at Hoyts which we're seeing today. Never been to a re-screening of an older film but it'll probably just be a DCP, hoping it's the 4K remaster.

Nope, you're not alone on that. It's lovely. I also love the wallpaper in the home, it's just rich and gives you that holiday feel.

The new transfer is beautiful. I notice so much more, and the colors are gorgeous. Really worth the price (well maybe not the tin at full price) but for the 24 dollars I spent, it was worth it. This is my favorite holiday film.

Yep, it was a DCP of the 4K remaster, so I got to see it finally, also nice to see it in a cinema this time. Though I think they zoomed it in to fit the full 16:9 frame. But aside from that, the transfer looked really good.

I bought this from Best Buy a week ago for $8. I figured, what the heck, since I've had Home Alone 2 on BD for so long. I might as well finally complete my collection. I only upgraded Home Alone 2 because that was the only DVD that was never enhanced for 16:9 TVs. Since the first Home Alone was released on DVD in a 16:9 format and the BD reviewers weren't the best, I never intended on upgrading. But since Fox released a new transfer, I decided to go for it. For the most part, it's a nice looking transfer. I do agree with the reviewer here that it is a bit dark, but it still looks nice overall. And it was only $10 too, so I'm very happy with my purchase.

After giving up on Target restocking their exclusive with the knit hat (they even canceled 2 in-store pickup orders), I bought and opened the single releases last week. Of course, while shopping in Target tonight, I see they restocked the exclusive. My kind of luck!

The sequel is just as heartwarming and really has some amazing imagery. The Plaza Hotel is just stunning.

Why won't Home Alone 3-5 and the Dennis the Menace films come to blu-ray?

Because they're isn't a market for these movies on bluray. Some of the films you listed didn't even have theatrical releases.

At this point you're lucky they included Home Alone 3-5 on dvds with the collectors edition.
