Two-Disc Blu-ray?!?! YES!

I will not be happy unless it has multiple commentaries, a four-hour making of documentary which covers EVERYTHING, deleted scenes, gag reel...

Feel like I'll end up seeing it two or three times.
Will probably hold out on bluray until the eventual boxset.

I saw it twice, once each with mum and dad.

This Blu-ray had better be the usual extras-packed release like the movie's are known for getting.

It's Disney though. I would say four featurettes with a total runtime of 50 minutes.

I think this all depends on which version you buy, if you go out day one and buy it then you will get what ever they have on offer at the time, but if you wait as the next film comes out in may, then you will probably get more features or a nice steelbook or something, i rushed out the first day and bought the hobbit and they have changed it i think four times now, between different steelbooks and stuff, if you are super keen to have it on the first day maybe buy it and then sell it when the other ones come out.

There will inevitably be a Trilogy set after the third film, and then a Complete set with all 9 films.

The first release will in no doubt contain a few featurettes that will be different from the trilogy sets though.. all depends how 'complete' you want your features to be I guess.

Seeing as the 6 film set has been re-issued in different packaging recently, I'd say they won't even think of releasing the Theatrical cuts of 4,5 and 6 on Blu-Ray, until the end of this film trilogy... which is when... 2019/2020?

Dunno man - I could see them doing a re-release well before that. Episode 8 hits in 2017. That's also the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. UHD Blu-ray will also have been out for a year in the marketplace. That's a notable focal point of influences that would make it ideal for a 4K remaster of the original trilogy. Remastering the original films would be a big thing for fans and let's face it, if they REALLY wanted to they could go all out and do seamless branching to include both the original and current versions of the films. Then those same masters could be used for the saga boxset a few years later also.

Me - from here on in I'm buying the individual releases. With the anthology films coming out it's going to be an interesting marketing quandary as any complete sets would either have to be just the episodes or the episodes and stand-alones in which case that could carry on for quite some time if Disney have their way (which they will).

Five times for me. According to the Star Wars News Net website, it looks like there could be as much as 15-20 minutes of deleted scenes on the disc.

I'll grab a cheapie ex rental

I'll put money on this having multiple releases: standard editions, 3D blu, steelbooks, collector's edition, ultimate edition, 4K edition, 7 Film collection, 9 Film collection, 12 film collection, 31 film holodisc edition

If it doesn't I won't be grabbing the 2d version until it is ridiculously cheap. I would be more surprised if there wan't though then if I suddenly discovered I had a third nipple.

It was apparently a post-conversion to 3D. Would you still get the 3D version?
