One version of the story would take place in the past, which would mean bringing back Carl Weathers to play Apollo Creed, who died in 1985’s Rocky IV. “Ryan has some ideas of going forward and backward and actually seeing Rocky and Apollo together,” Stallone revealed. “Think of The Godfather 2. That’s what he was thinking of, which was kind of ambitious.” Stallone said he’d recently bumped into Weathers, who looked like he was still in good shape. “I can’t believe I got in the ring with him,” he says. “Even if it was play fighting.”

did this do well at the box office? no one was in the theatre when i went.. (first week) cant see a sequel

it was only passable as a standalone too

Wait, so as if he DIDN'T die? Cause showing them together at their ages now will never pass as them BEFORE Rocky IV.

I thought this was superior to all the Rocky Sequels, so I'm all for it.

Cool. Thanks. I want to check this out on video. Didn't get a good chance while it was in theaters, but a fan of the series.

I heard good things about Creed from those I spoke to who saw it.
It's not a huge budget to create, so I can see how a sequel can happen even without a huge box office earning.

If you watch them in order it's like all of a sudden about halfway through R3 he got smart and then was lobotomised for Rocky Balboa.

I give Rocky the edge since it's the movie that started it all, but there were many aspects of Creed that I liked better.

I see the 7 film collection is $30 on eBay, going to have to go for that soon I guess. Then again I might get it at BB instead if it goes back in stock at that price.

It's the 6 film collection (obviously Creed is not available yet). And it's $17.99 at Best Buy.
