And I bet Tower screwed up and canceled the orders instead of just recall and reorder them. I am sure you can just re-order it.
The later update from Paramount said no exchage program needed. The earlier post was Bill's specualtion on what would happen, the later is the info he got from Paramount.

This is how I read it and is my speculation.

Tower should not have broken street date so it should be on them to replace the bad disc not Paramount.

Amazon is selling the "new" Iron Man BD. Lets push that baby to #1, now that Tower failed its customers.

Let's just relax a bit. Unless you are a retailer or rental who could lose money then you really shouldn't be concerned. We are still a week away from the street date and...after all...it's must a movie. It should be way down the list of priorities in the grand scheme of things.

I am sure most retailers figured it out, I think Tower is the exception and messed things up. Looked like they shipped this out right before they found the problem. managed to fix it and start a new batch of discs. We might be lucky to have no recalls or shortages, but we'll see.

One of the reviewers mentioned getting a replacement disk back on Saturday so they have known for at least 10-12 days before street day that they may need to recall the disc. That amount of time is alot better than 1 week to get replacement discs out.

i suspect they try to get them out as soon as possible in case something like this happens, to give them time to fix it, but also to help them make a stockpile of copies in case there is no problem.

thought I'd throw in my two cents. I had it pre-ordered from BB. I just checked the status and noticed that they added the newly "UPC'd" Iron Man BD to my order. And they kept the price at $29.99 instead of $34.99 as they have it listed now (don't yell at me for paying that...I had reward zone coupons. haha!)

Just to be sure, it's safe for me to keep my Amazon preorder, right? I mean, by the time they ship, it'll be the correct discs going out, right?

Yeah, Tower.com sure did fail their customers by shipping a disc they didn't know was going to be defective and issuing refunds to all the people that got their orders (at least I am assuming that's what's happening as mine was refunded) So I just got Iron Man early for $2.99 (shipping charge) and it plays in my PS3!! If that's the definition of failing, I hope they fail ALL the time!!!

Perhaps Paramount had this problem figured out some time ago, and some of the bad discs got shipped out by accident.

Default Tower.com recalling early Iron Man Blu-Ray?

I placed an order last week, week of Sept. 15th, for Iron Man and was told it was being shipped on Thursday the 18th. As of today, I still hadn't received the movie so I called customer support. It seems I have been issued a refund for the order and the CS rep. told me that all the Iron Man movies they had were on recall. Has anyone else been told this from Tower? I know some people have gotten their copies already and have been having playback issues with theirs. I'm wondering if they are on recall because of the playback issues, or because they were shipping the movie out before the release date and the movie studio found out. Any thoughts on this subject?
