It was kind of weird, it started out fine with Chicago Med, but then when you watch Chicago Fire you realize you should have watched Chicago Fire first then Chicago Med. It was like 50/50 you felt like your watching them in the right order, but at the same time you don't

I think if they want to keep doing these arc stories, this should do them as speicials that are 2 Hours and 6 Mins long instead of 3 seperate episodes, should have all 3 shows meshed togeather.

Anyone else see these new episodes and feel the same way?
They did not air this out of order, it was filmed as 1 long story and it played out that way, especially since when Herman went into Surgery it immediately cut into the Chicago med opening. The end of Med obviously stopped right when it would have switched to PD as they just found out about the false cancer positives.

Yeah not sure why you would think it was out of order?

Hunh? Were you paying attention? Or did you DVR both, and then just watch Med first? Normally, Med airs at 9 and Fire at 10, but they swapped time-slots and aired Fire first this time.

The only problem -- if you want to call it that -- that I had with this crossover is that the connections are somewhat tenuous. The link between Fire and Med -- other than the plotline with
[Show spoiler]Herrmann
-- was really just the woman that 51 rescued from the burning building, which led into the main mystery of the Med episode. And that will lead into tonight's P.D. episode.

But then, this was the case with the Fire/P.D./SVU crossover last year.

Crossover appearances (quite a few)...

From Fire: Severide, Dawson, Brett, Herrmann, Cindy Herrmann, Chili, Cruz, Mouch, and Chout.

From P.D.: Halstead and Lindsay.

I watched it, in the order it usually airs it worked out fine, until half way through Chicago Fire, I don't know why they feel the need to air this out of order, I looked online, and Chicago Med aired at 9pm, and Chicago Fire at 10pm, unless they changed it at the last min, because Chicago Med is supposed to air before Chicago Fire, as it has been since it launched.

Oh well its done with now, it was good story non the less, time to move on.

They needed to air Fire first this time for two reasons:

(a) The plotline regarding
[Show spoiler]Herrmann getting stabbed
carried directly over from the pre-break finale.

(b) The woman from the fire that they were treating would seem to come out of nowhere if they didn't show the guys from 51 rescuing her from the fire.

I don't know where online you saw that Med was on at 9 and Fire at 10. That's the way it usually is, but last night it was different. Both tvguide.com's and zap2it.com's schedules had Fire listed at 9 and Med at 10, the way it was intended to be.

I got my listings from http://sharetv.com/, with this incident, in the future I wont blindly follow their listings as they were obviously wrong this time.

The post of mine you quoted, maybe it came across as confusing (but when I thought it out and typed it out, it didn't come across as confusing). I wasn't posting specifically about the story content of Chicago Med's fall finale and it's episodes after the Christmas and New Year break, but just the episode titles (including the title for the episode which was part of the crossover trilogy) and when they would be airing on NBC.

Based on watching the promo on You Tube, I got the gist that the Chicago crossover trilogy aired in the following order (as the episodes have now aired in the US, I won't need to use spoiler tags):

Chicago Fire episode "The Beating Heart"
Chicago Med episode "Malignant"
Chicago P.D. episode "Now I'm God".

I didn't know for sure, but I had an inkling that as the trilogy was airing in the above order, that Chicago Fire and Chicago Med would be swapping timeslots on Tuesday night, with the final part airing on NBC last night in Chicago P.D.'s usual timeslot (with Law & Order: SVU airing before it).

The end credits music on Chicago Fire has an upbeat sound, while Chicago P.D.'s end credits music has a moody sound. Still no start date yet for when Chicago Med starts on Universal Channel in the UK. How does the end credits music sound on Chicago Med?

Chicago Med has officially gotten a Season 2 renewal. It was mentioned as part of an announcement of a new extension of Dick Wolf's deal with NBC. L&O: SVU also got an official renewal for another season.

No sign yet of a UK channel picking the show up, but I hope a channel which broadcasts in HD picks the show up.

United Kingdom Chicago Med episode "Derailed"

Thought the first episode "Derailed" was a very solid opener. Like with it's two sister series, the crossover appearances felt natural and weren't forced (paramedics Brett and Chout appeared briefly in one scene not long after the start of the episode, and Herrmann appeared in two scenes (the first scene saw him hand over to a couple of nurses, including Maggie Lockwood, a box containing some of, or all off, the belongings from some of the victims who were on the train (was it a metro train?). The latter scene was at Molly's (a conversation between Dr. Charles and Dr. Rhodes), just before the end of the episode (Herrmann was in the background).

Some of the scenes I really liked were those with character Sarah Reese. The scene where I think she was trying to find a vein to extract blood from the unreal patient was one of my favourite scenes in this episode. Another scene which stood out for me was when Dr. Charles was talking to the teenager, who I think had a problem with his lungs.

Also, it's odd, but every episode announced so far seems to have been retitled. The pilot was originally announced as "The Green Branch", but changed to "Derailed". Next week's episode #2 was originally announced as "Just Two Blocks", but changed to "iNO". Episode #3 (Dec 1) was originally announced as "Fallback Plan", but changed to just "Fallback". Episode #4 (Dec 8) was originally announced as "An Honest Mistake", but changed to "Mistaken".

Chout was also in the premiere episode of Med.
I'd forgotten that I'd read in this thread that Detective Jay Halstead from Chicago P.D. made a crossover appearance in the first episode "Derailed". But I don't remember seeing him in the first episode (just remember seeing Brett, Chout and Herrmann from Chicago Fire appearing in the episode). I rewatched the last few minutes of the first episode when it was repeated this past weekend, because I thought that Jay Halstead may have appeared in the scene at Molly's (the conversation scene with Dr. Charles and Dr. Rhodes). But he wasn't in that scene. I'm sure I didn't see Jesse Lee Sofer's name mentioned in the guest cast credits for the first episode, but I could be wrong.

It was more straightforward with the second episode "iNO". Roman and Burgess from Chicago P.D. appeared in one scene, after the mother of a recently born baby fled the hospital.

The third episode "Fallback" premieres this coming Sunday night.
