United Kingdom The Green Inferno (Eli Roth) Feb 22nd

Finally got it's UK release date, Directors Cut too

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Green-Infern...nferno+blu+ray

Been waiting to see this for over 2 years now, Germany is getting the Theatrical cut. Italy is getting Theatrical and Directors Cut. The French release apparently has forced subs.

Lots of mixed reviews, hope it's as good as Knock Knock

Is there much difference between the theatrical cut and director's cut? I saw this screened at a festival and thought it was ok. Expected more explicit images given the people involved and ended up liking the movie more for the satire. Oh, and it's definitely better than Knock Knock which felt even more tame in comparison.

I am not a huge Roth fan, but went into this with massive hope.
My God it was terrible, such a shame

As long as it is better than that Welcome to the Jungle* tripe I'll be happy... were there even cannibals in it?

*Not the one with The Rock, that wasn't bad

I read on one of the genre sites there was an extra 8 mins in the Dir Cut, no idea if it's a fact though.

Been waiting for this one too. I too have seen some mixed reviews but I really don't care as I would see this regardless. I presume this director's cut has no BBFC cuts?

Aye, I enjoyed that one.

February 22nd, not long to wait now.

Roth stated in a AMA Reddit that there isn't a Director's Cut and what was released to theaters is the same cut that was first screened years ago.

It's odd that the US and UK editions are advertised as the Director's Cut then, another marketing gimmick?

The German forums stated they were only getting the Theatrical cut, how odd!

Italy are deffo getting 2 different versions, one maybe censored though, a rare thing for Italy!

Definitely a marketing gimmick, with Roth not hiding at all that the version he filmed was the version that was released.

I enjoyed certain aspects of it but as the story went on, it got worse ... and worse, and by the end (and how it ended) I felt like I was gypped out of my money.
[Show spoiler]the setup for a sequel and no demise for the main scummy guy was highly presumptuous

I thought this was awesome, almost Roth's best movie, it might be, I can't decide if I prefer it to Hostel.

Love it, thought it was great fun (although I also loved Knock, Knock so I'm not the most discerning of viewers). Quite hard to watch that scene that takes place half-way through. Oof.

I wasn't a big fan either but probably the most watchable thing from the Eli Roth catalogue of mediocrity. I didn't know it was going to be as humorous as it turned out to be, there's a bunch of scenes that had me laughing but I'm not sure of the intended tone exactly so not sure how much of it was done on purpose (much like the hammy acting and iffy line delivery). It's deffo more Ferox than Holocaust. Some good KNB SFX so worth watching just for that in my opinion.

I didn't like any of the plotlines setting up a possible sequel; pass on that.

If anything it's a new entry in a genre long thought dead so respect for Roth getting it made,I can imagine it was a challenge!

IMO all the humour in the movie is very intentional, i was laughing my head off at some parts. The humour was some of the best stuff in the movie.

Agreed. It worked well within the genre, and for all the flack this movie seems to be getting I do admire Roth for having done this movie. Who else is even interested in reviving 70s cannibal movies?
