Is this release as good as the Japanese one? As far as I understand, they have the best classic John Woo releases.

General rule of thumb is that everything owned by Fortune Star has the exact same Blu-ray everywhere - upscaled picture and terrible remixed 7.1 audio. If you're getting the Korean releases, it's basically for the packaging only.

Sometimes the Japanese releases (mainly the Jackie Chan stuff) come with the Japanese theatrical version as a special feature which is proper HD. The stuff from Dragon Dynasty use their own transfers as well, but they aren't great either.

The only classic John Woo release from Japan which is superior to one anywhere else is Hard Boiled, the reason being Fortune Star don't own that one.
