Default Sony BDP-S300 component up-convert?

I just received mine Sunday and I'm using components. I noticed quite a higher PQ with standard DVDs than with my old DENON that even had DCDI processing. Has anyone noticed the same thing, as in maybe this unit up-converts over components? Anyone?...Anyone?...Beuller?...Beuller?

I don't think it upconverts over component - you have to be connected HDMI to get the upconvert benefits with Standard DVDs.

Must be something in the internal processing then, cause standard DVD's look close to 720P.

If the DVD’s are not copy protected the Sony will upconvert over component video. 95% of all DVD’s are copy protected and require HDMI/DVI to upconvert standard DVD’s.

I have my S300 hooked up via HDMI. The up-converted standard DVDs look pretty awesome!
