What is too much for Off Topic here? - Blu-ray Forum

How do you decide what is considered off-topic and what is over the limit?

I just had two threads completely deleted...not locked...not even warned...just completely eviscerated. They weren't out of control, IMO....no one got out of hand...but, just my opinion.

The reason for starting this thread is ask why some get to stay and others are just deleted. Seems weird. And, don't use the line that, "It has nothing to do with Blu-ray"...80% of the stuff in this forum area doesn't pertain to it.

Its not like I am making up these stories...they are straight out of the news. I would greatly appreciate an explanation.

I think that we need to realize that "off-topic" is taken too literally. Off-topic should be for topics that don't fit into any of the other forums - such as discussing Amazon.com's return policy.

I dont understand how some threads can be deleted from Off Topic, when they arent out of hand. Thats why its called OFF TOPIC, meaning it has NOTHING to do with Blu-ray.

wow alice.....for once we agree!

but i do agree. it seems there's some people on a ****list that get their threads/posts deleted on a daily basis. yet when others do the same it seems to slip by.

I had a thread about the 360 sales in Japan. No one was saying anything bad, but it was POOF gone. It was also started in off topic, so it should have been fine.
