Did anybody watch the "Dive of Death" that was on tonight? Is it just me, or was the conclusion pretty lackluster, to put it mildly? I don't even know what was supposed to happen, but what I saw was pretty lame.

Yep it was lame... I was just waiting for the local news and saw the end of it. The commentary was awful. "it's NEVER been done before, you have NEVER seen anything like this!" 30 minutes later, a crappy bungee jump with a few strobe lights, the cameras pan away, you can't see him being released from the rope, and they say "he has MAGICALLY disappeared, that is amazing!" credits role, and i just sat there shaking my head.

David Blaine was cool before then he started doing these weird tricks. The only magicians I still respect are Penn & Teller.

He's a hack.

It was reported that he was taking 10 minute breaks every hour to stretch, eat, go to the bathroom etc. Blaine was trying to say he was hanging there for 60 hours straight. BS.

Ya I don't know it all just feels like a big gimmick. Blaine & Chris Angel just annoy me for some reason. When I was a kid, sure, I thought it was all cool and what not. But now it's just really not impressive.

Some people will go to extremes just for attention.

Frankly, I think the guy is a big loser. They showed some snapshots of him being righted during his “trick” so his doc could check him out (Although two days prior he said in an interview that under no circumstances should anyone try and interrupt his stunt). It also looks like he might have had a diaper change.

I heard something went wrong at the end. He was supposed to fly away with some helium balloons tied to him but the balloons failed to launch. Thats why they went straight to the credits. It was embarrassing.

The whole thing was a bogus bunch of BS. He took bathroom breaks like every 30 minutes so it was NOT a continues amount of hours hanging.
