Nope.
It starts off with a trailer for cat people that does have forced subtitles on it that had me worried for a little bit but when at the menu just choose version originale and there's no subtitles and the film title and credits are in English.

Very much hoping to hear how Cat People looks, even if it's from the same old master. I think some tasteful handling of contrast/brightness n colors could help this out a little.

Any update on either of these transfers? My understanding is INTO THE NIGHT is Region Free (I'd assume that Cat People is to, if this is the case) - currently waiting on my copy as we speak..

It's the pre-filtered HD-DVD version of the transfer though, all other BD's of this have been DNR'd into oblivion!

Same as Carpenter's The Thing.

Thanks, those pre-dnr screencaps only look a different kind of bad. But has anyone with the discs compared this to the Shout or DE on their set? I'm hoping maybe with some lowered contrast, the pre dnr version could still make this more watchable on my set. Of course I'm praying someone will do a new scan someday, but aint holding my breath.

No forced subs, but it plays in French by default - just select otherwise from the menu upon loading. The transfer is pretty nice, but it should be remembered that it was shot on typical 80s stock, with very coarse grain which too many interpret as a fault.

I managed to get it for 1p brand new, and would have been happy paying 500 times that.

As for the packaging...
