Default Fox Makes Blu-Ray Push

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/ind...leID=CA6346827

From the article:
Quote:
Fox is planning to launch roughly 20 HD titles on Blu-Ray in the fourth quarter, including such blockbuster titles as Ice Age 2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Omen 666 and Garfield 2, along with catalog fare.

I'm only in if X-Men excludes X-Men 3 and Fox apologizes to me personally for making it.

I liked x-men 3...blame x-men 2 for forcing them to have to go the phoenix route to begin with....

but I liked the 2nd one as well...

There is no problem with the Phoenix subplot in X2. The correct people to blame are Fox.

Right after X2 was a hit, director Bryan Singer repeatedly said he wanted to work on X3. Fox was ambivalent, as they felt Singer was becoming too high demand for their tastes. So they sat on it. Singer kept saying everywhere how he wants to get started on X3, and Fox kept mum.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has been trying unsuccesfully to resurrect their Superman franchise for over a decade. Batman Begins gets greenlit and it looks real good. Warner decides to give Superman another go. They search around and decide that Singer, who did such a great job on the X-Men movies, would be the best choice. They offer him Superman. And how can he pass that up? So he goes for it.

Almost immediately after Singer jumps on with Superman, Fox announces they are going to make X3. So now, they're just giving the finger to Singer.

They hire Brett Ratner, who is a glorified hack, and he and his writers go about screwing up everything that Singer was working on.

This is entirely Fox's fault. X3 was disappointing on every level except for special effects. The direction, the editing, the music, and most especially the writing were terrible. I was embarrassed to watch it and angry as hell at Fox.

Luckily, I'm seeing Superman Returns tomorrow (Tuesday) night, so soon all will be right with the world.

X3 was a damn good movie. granted, it was no where near as good as the second one, but then again, I never expected it to be. The whole thing with Phoenix was awesome, but the movie was too short for its own good (which was also the first movie's problem). Not just that, but they just killed mutants just to kill them (although, Psylocke was a clone in the comics, so there is no reason why another can't appear in the movie). Fortunately, they got rid of Cyclops early enough so we didn't have to deal with another load of piss poor acting from Marsden, but I was very pissed about the Prof X cop out at the end. If you are going to kill someone, KEEP them dead!! Regardless, Magneto stole the show here, and while the cure is obviously a dud, if there is an X4, I hope they give another villian the spotlight, like Sinister or Apocalypse. The biggest disappointment about X3 was the same as X2, its friggin score sucked ass. No one has done a good X-Men score since Kamen's.

x men 3 sucked because of crap dialog a poor plot and random silly killings of the mutants or at least taking away there powers just to kill them. Wolverine as usual was good and provided the only enjoyment in the movie. It was clear that they wouldn't be making another movie after that one and they certainly killed the franchise. The 2nd was the best one by far. The good news is that the rumor is that there is going to be a few wolverine movies with hugh jackman and that singer will most likey be back for that. Superman i think should be good, though Pirates 2 is going to be awesome.

no...Halle Berry said she wanted some action scenes.....and she got them..

she was pleased with her role and said she'd return....Gambit would be in the 4th....they said he wasn't in the 3rd because he wouldn't have had the role he deserved...

FOX needs to release star wars... that would be crazy sales for blu-ray. Think of all those star wars crazies getting blu-ray players.

Yeah but SW's releases are up to Lucas. It's unlikely he'll release them in HD any time soon. Look at how long he waited till he allowed their DVD releases.

Actually, if Fox sticks with supporting BR only, I could see Star Wars being the first Fox releases that appear on both.
