DVDs with Digital HD - Blu-ray Forum

So far I've seen Santa's Little Helper, Captive and Sleeping with Other People.

Any other movies where the studio canceled a Blu release and just slapped a Digital HD copy onto the DVD?

Dope DVDs had a "digital HD" code slips in them. The DVD slipcover even said "digital HD" as well. However, the codes themselves redeemed SD, and you had to open a ticket to get it changed (and most anyone I know successfully had the change from SD to HD).

2 Fox titles had digital HD code slips in them (and they did indeed redeem as HD):
Night at the Museum 3 Secret of the Tomb
The Longest Ride

All 3 of these had BD releases as well

The new james bond collection sets also had digital hd with the dvd sets (the Brosnon set, the Daniel Craig set, etc....)

Is this true for anyone? I looked around today and it seems WB went in the opposite direction and gave it no digital at all. No UV sticker and I shook it and heard no code sheet shake around. Did this at Target and Walmart.

Another Fox title that has digital HD with the DVD is the Rogue Cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past (it is a choice of either ITunes or UV, and the ITunes version did indeed redeem in HD and with ITunes extras). I also have the 3D blu of the theatrical version, and it has the same redemption options, but don't think the theatrical DVD included digital HD.

Has Warner stopped including UV with DVDs? Our Brand is Crisis, The 33, and Black Mass all seem to be DVD only. Not even UV SD.

But so far some studios have included Digital HD with DVDs

Fox

Night at the Museum 3, X-Men DOFP RC, Longest Ride, Strawberry Shortcake, and the home alones were all iTunes or UV or Google Play. The rest are UV or Google Play. The Bonds are UV only

coming soon

Universal (iTunes and UV) Also some 100th Anniversay dvd the come with digital copies do redeem in HD with both iTunes and UV.

Paramount (iTunes or UV, probably both)

the other studios when they include it are UV SD only, i assume

I'm guessing it would be ITunes or UV. The other interesting thing is, if Amazon's artwork is correct, the Blu will also have a DVD copy, something Fox previously said they stopped except for family films (and was the case with their other recent blockbusters)

Yeah, Should be iTunes, UV, or Google Play. Does seem Fox is treating this like a Family film. Usually family stand-a-lone DVD's are the only ones getting this kind of Digital HD. Nearly every catalog title is UV or Google Play

These are UV positive. Probably also a Goolge Option. May have iTunes, but most likely do not.

The Universal 100th anniversary collection DVDs come with an HD UV and HD iTunes code each. Titles such as Buck Privates and Destry Rides Again.

So far those have been HD, though It Came From Outer Space redeemed SD, as no HD transfer exists for it. There might be a few other titles that are similar. Destry is definitely an example of one that redeems HDX

Does anyone know if these DVD codes redeem in HD or not? Most of them say nothing or just have the UV symbol. I left Red 2 and Harry Potter: ATDH 1&2 off the list cause they both redeemed in HDX and were from DVDs.
