Wink AASHIQUI (1990) BluRay from T-series

Watched it few times by now.

It must be recognized as a quintissential cornerstone bollywood filmmaking defining the so called 1990 era (1988-1996).

The bachchan bad years directly resulted in bollywoods desperate attempt to look for the next superstars to keep the engine running and wheels in motion.

Hence, non-khans early 90s romance movies get less credit than then they deserved.

AASHIQUI starring unknown newcomers along with QSQT, CHANDNI had probably the most influence on 90s khan era movies which heavily borrowed in laying down musical tracks structure, lyrics writing and cinematography.

AASHIQUI gets the least credit compared to QSQT and I am glad T-series brought this out on BluRay.

Much respect.

T-Series released this on Blu-ray because Aashiqui is the all time most selling album in India, it's a record. If we consider the circumstances about that era that is really a huge success, credit goes to Kumar Sanu/Anuradha Paudwal, specially Nadeem-Shravan.

T-Series thought to cash the name Aashiqui again in BD industry.

Some all time selling albums in other companies are:
Venus : Saajan, Dilwale, Deewana, Salaami etc.
Tips : Phool Aur Kaante, Dil Ka Kya Kasoor, Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayee etc.
Weston : Jaan Tere Naam, Chamatkar (Later Tips got the rights)

And the good thing is all all composed by NS (except PTKYA, Chamatkar), and the bad thing is, T-Series never used and removed Nadeem-Shravan's name from all their music cassettes and CDs after Gulshan Kumar incident. Some examples are Sirf Tum, Saat Rang Ke Sapne etc. and also from the new pressing CDs like Aashiqui, Sadak, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Junoon, Saathi etc.

I enjoyed the movie despite the crappy blu-ray - but the PQ is better than Mr. India for sure.

MR INDIA is 1987
AASHIQUI is 1990

Dunno how much 3 yrs difference is in terms of cinema preservation.

I like to judge AASHIQUI (1990) with CHANDNI (1989) because of the following reason.

AASHIQUI (1990) is a T-series "home" production
CHANDNI (1989) is YRF "home" production.

Both T-series and YRFs author and release BRDs of their movies.

This also mean both AASHIQUI and CHANDNI were authored (digital telecine) directly from "master print" source material as both T-series and YRFs have access to.

Same cannot be said about MR. INDIA (1987) that was authored by EROS in UK.

They may have taken one of the better "theatre" prints to author it for BRD release it in UK. They may never had access to original master print.

And when we watch MR. INDIA on BRD, we can see that. Its colors are too washed out.

Default Which DVD version: GVI or T-Series?

Is there a difference between the two DVDs in the links below? Which would you recommend?
