My mom on Match Game

My mom was on Match Game in the 70s. Her cousin happened to see her episode on television on Wednesday in the middle of the episode. Is there anyone here that records Match Game re-runs? Or perhaps a good place to find recently aired episodes? Hers was on this past Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. My Aunt recorded her Thursday show but it would be awesome to be able to have these on a computer rather than a DVR.

Six years ago I wanted to get the episodes as a cool surprise gift for my mom so I went back and forth through e-mail with GSN. They eventually found that she was episodes 1335, 1336, and 1337 (my mom has been leet/1337 since the 70s HA!). But back then they said they didn't have the rights to air those episodes. I guess they got the rights back for them since she was aired.

Tell her I'm jealous. As a little girl I watched the reruns and loved Richard Dawson and Gene Rayburn. It's awesome she got to be on there. There's a few DVDs out there of past episodes, same for family feud, you may be able to check those and see if her episodes are on there.

I would contact the Game Show Network and see if they can tell you when the 3 episodes will be shown again, then we can find someone to record it for you.

I sent them an email a few days ago but have yet to hear back from them. I'm hoping it will be shown again somewhat soon. I don't know how many episodes are in their loop before they repeat.

I'm guessing GSN is the only station that airs this show? Or might there be another channel (hopefully)?

It also airs on Buzzr, which is a classic game show channel. It's an over the air subchannel that's carried in select cities, and is carried by some cable companies in those cities.

My aunt lives in Chicago so she gets that station. Maybe she will record the show in hopes of finding her episodes haha.

I remember I spent over a year recording every episode trying to find her with no luck.

I'm pretty sure my Aunt who recorded it has Comcast. My mom does have DirecTV but she doesn't have DVR. She says she doesn't want to worry about having a backlog of shows and feel obligated to catch up on content (or some such nonsense).

If you find out when it's going to air again I have Windows Media Center so I can DVR it and I should be able to convert it to a more universal format.

Have you searched Youtube ? I ran a quick search and didn't find your episodes, but there are so many variations in title listings ...


Update : It appears that all/most of the listings on Youtube use this title format Match Game XX Episode #, where XX = year of the show, ie. Match Game 78 Episode 1335

Unfortunately, I don't see your episodes. They have a bunch of the '78 shows, but there is a big hole in the listings from the upper 1200's to the mid 1300's.

What's her first name? I'm addicted to watching Match Game on Buzzr, I only have OTA tv and love that channel! Probably saw those episodes but don't have any way to record them, unfortunately.

So cool your mom was on Match Game op. I just watched a documentary on that show a few weeks back. That was one of the best game shows in history. Still funny as hell.
