I'll have to see it first, but I have a feeling I'll love this. Deadpool is the first superhero movie that I've ever actually wanted to see.

Not trying to be negative towards this movie, but what is it about Deadpool that has people so excited?

I've never read the comic, but I do know that it's full of humor and is extremely violent. This seems like it's a very faithful adaptation of the comic and is in fact made for the fans.

Should someone who is unfamiliar with this comic, but loves Kick Ass and pretty much every cool superhero movie be expected to love this? I hope so, because the trailers aren't doing it for me. He seems annoying and the humor kinda falls flat IMO.

I plan to see it based on the hype alone.

The marketing has been amazing and everything about this movie has been for the fans ever since it was announced. Ryan Reynolds has been pushing for this to be greenlit and even hired the writers himself. Fox agreeing to this movie being rated R and faithful to the comics is probably the biggest thing going for it. Fox has screwed up enough Marvel properties by tweaking it to their ways. I have heard the humor is more adult rated and there isnt the deadpool pg cartoon annoyingness that you see on tv shows nowadays. I would say its violence and humor is more similar to Kingsman if you liked that movie, which was loved by most people who watched it. I say give it a try and maybe read a couple comics or look over the deadpool marketing to see if you will like it.

Best Buy will have the rights to the steelbook, so we should see a steelbook and a nice one too! Expect Target to offer up some sort of bonus disk or variant slip.

I've never read the comic (I actually haven't ever read a comic/graphic novel before), but the biggest thing for me is that Deadpool seems to be sarcastic, grating, hilarious, violent, and an anti-hero. The promise, as I understand it, is that he's absolutely everything the other Marvel characters aren't. Plus, he apparently breaks the fourth wall, which I'm a fan of. As I said before, Deadpool is the first superhero movie I've ever actually wanted to see.

Actually he is every other Marvel character.
Spidermans humor/mouth, mask, bodytype.
Wolverines healing factor and anti-hero status.
Guns and swords from everyone else.
Deathstroke............

As a result, Deadpool was created and thusly considered, as Liefeld put it, "a deadline inspired character." He figured that Deadpool was just a Spider-Man with katana swords, machine guns, and a jerk. That being said, Marvel went along with it. Also, when he pitched the origin of "Deadpool", he had always wanted to tie it into Wolverine and touted Deadpool as the one scientists had "messed up" on prior to the creation of Logan/Wolverine.

Ah, well that's good info. I haven't seen any of the X-Men movies, and only the original Spiderman trilogy, where I can't recall him being funny or sarcastic at all. And I don't know anything about Deathstroke. Maybe the marketing for Deadpool is just better...?

In the comics, Spider-Man is generally funny and sarcastic. He uses humor to annoy his enemies and throw them off. The original movie trilogy really lacked that aspect of Spider-Man.

As for Deadpool, this will be an instant add to my collection. Looking forward to seeing it in theaters.

I absolutely, absolutely loved this movie.

If there's a Best Buy steelbook and a Target bonus disc, I might actually buy both just to express my utmost love for it.

First Superhero movie I thoroughly enjoyed since Spider-Man 2.

I liked how most this film was just one big potshot at the oversaturation of superhero movies on the market on this point.
