The ae2000 does not have 120hz I believe. I think it's like a 96hz model. The new projectors like the epsons and maybe the new panny ae3000 has the 120hz.

Um...not to sure what kind of technology is associated to this 3D projection image or what not but, I do know that usually in lcds and now projectors 120hz is used to handle motion blur issues. Sometimes it does add it's own type of artifacts like a soap opera look or "pop" type of feel. I know on my samsung LCD with Automotion plus on high makes the image have a more depth type of feel to it. Not really 3D but I guess some say it's pretty close or rather kinda wierd.

I work in simulation and there are projectors coming out that can out put a stereo image from the one unit (usually two projectors are used one for the left eye one for the right). The new projectors run at 120Hz (ideally) and split 60Hz to the left eye 60Hz to the right. So in essence you are only seeing a 60Hz 3d image but if done correctly does look very good (obviously you need to have passive stereo glasses) This technology could be passed across to blu ray and I have no doubt it will seeing as a blu ray disc can hold potentially 400Gb and the price of 120Hz projectors / screens are coming down in price

Official Answer: the PT-AE2000 support only 96Hz, that means that you can watch 3D movies (Stereographics or classic Red and blue) by now there just a couple of movies that runs on Stereo (you need a stereo kit) that transfer the origina signal to frames. if you search on Amazon for example you can find Blue ray movies on 3D like hulk, but on classic Red and blue not stereo
