Transmetropolitan - Blu-ray Forum

With the success of Deadpool, I'm hoping studios are looking for more R-rated content to adapt, and hoping further still that someone decided to adapt Transmetropolitan.

Transmetropolitan is a cyberpunk, transhumanist comic book series chronicling the battles of Spider Jerusalem, infamous renegade gonzo journalist of the future, an homage to gonzo journalism founder Hunter S. Thompson. Spider Jerusalem dedicates himself to fighting the corruption and abuse of power of two successive United States presidents; he and his "filthy assistants" strive to keep their world from turning more dystopian than it already is while dealing with the struggles of fame and power, brought about due to the popularity of Spider via his articles.

I've been waiting on adaptations of this, Y the Last Man, Saga, and some other properties for some time now. If Preacher can get a TV show, all of these have potential.

Y the Last Man is in development at FX since fall. Hopefully they will announce some new info soon

Who do we cast as Spider Jerusalem?
I think Johnny Depp / Hunter S Thompson homages may not stretch this far.

Aphex Twin as Spider Jerusalem.

But if the requirement is previous acting experience, let's go with Ralph Fiennes.

Transmetropolitan is possibly my all-time favorite comic book and would love to see an adaptation of some sort for the big or small screen.

I also think there are still a ton of great non-super-hero comic books waiting to be adapted as well. I have a feeling we will be seeing them sooner or later.
